The science of sliding.

On track and on the road, protection does not end with impact absorption. After a crash, the remaining energy must be dissipated — and the safest way to do so is through a controlled slide.

This is why Dainese introduced metal plates on shoulders, elbows and knees. Unlike plastic, aluminum and titanium resist heat and abrasion, reducing friction and helping prevent dangerous rolling or joint twisting.

Carefully shaped to cover critical areas without restricting movement or adding unnecessary weight, the plates distribute forces over a wider surface while preserving ergonomics and performance.

Over the years, multiple solutions have been developed — from carbon-edged plates [slide 3] to ventilated designs that allow plate movement to enhance airflow [slide 5].

A feature developed through decades of research and refined directly on the track.
