Tomorrow Palazzo Diedo will host the screening “Goodnight, Lamby”, an animated short by visual artist Dustin Yellin.

Yellin has long described his sculptural practice as a form of “frozen cinema,” and here, for the first time, he brings one of his glass collages to life. Inspired by his three-year-old daughter Zia, who stars alongside Paul Rudd and Chris Rock, the film follows Zia as she ventures into her father’s vast sculpture in search of her missing stuffed lamb, Lamby.

Produced by Darren Aronofsky and Justin A. Gonçalves through Primordial Soup, the short blends generative AI with collage-style animation, extending Yellin’s handmade materials — collage, photography, glasswork — into a moving, cinematic world.

Goodnight, Lamby was an official selection at the 2026 Festival de Cannes, and will screen in Palazzo Diedo’s Black Box for the duration of the Venice Cinema Biennale.

Through the performance “Human Unreadable: Body not included”, the artistic duo Operator has created an unprecedented connection between dance and algorithmic code. While the algorithm defines movements and sequences that only exist on paper, the dancers bring them to life. Neither element can fully exist without the other.

For Ania Catherine, choreographer and co-founder of the duo, the performance extends beyond merely crafting movements in symbiosis with the machine: it is about bringing together, in a harmonious synthesis, the inherent rigidity of the algorithm with the dancers’ expressiveness and the energy of the audience. Only through this balance, digitally generated movements can transcend their origins and become truly human.

Our daily habits have drastically changed during the last few years, because our days are no longer exclusively occupied by minimal gestures or objects we deem insignificant, but also by our constant use of technology, particularly of AI.

The intersection of the analog and digital worlds shapes our daily lives and, consequently, our entire society. Both “Strange Rules” and “Ceal Floyer. Unfinished” precisely analyze this issue: those minimal spaces, those realities that we ignore or take for granted. Because everything holds meaning, from drinking a glass of water to co-creating with AI, and only art can reveal it.

To analyze the present in order to predict the future: this serves as the foundational premise of Avery Singer’s artwork “Vanessa”. Her practice involves compiling wartime images spanning from 2001 onward, which are subsequently reprocessed through artificial intelligence into a singular piece.

Rather than merely depicting the present, the artist filters it to anticipate what lies ahead, operating much like a highly skilled poker player.

History has unfolded through the conflicts between those who held power and those who coveted it.

It is precisely from this indissoluble bond between history and power that Ho Tzu Nyen “P for power” emerges: a series of chapters in which the artist and the machine interact to seek an ultimate definition of this historical and social engine.

For power does not pertain solely to politics: it permeates every sphere of the human experience. Is this a troubling premise for our future, or a reassuring one to help us understand the game we are playing?

Yesterday, Palazzo Diedo hosted “Human Unreadable: Body not included” (2026) by Operator.

Across six live performances, dancers embodied the algorithm’s instructions, exposing the choreographic infrastructure of “Human Unreadable”.

Presented in the context of “Strange Rules” within “Attention Guild”, the ongoing installation by Mat Dryhurst and Holly Herndon in collaboration with SUB, the performance foregrounded the tension between protocol and embodiment. The score exists as infrastructure; the performance exists only through the temporary appearance of a body not included in the code.

On 23 July 2026, Palazzo Diedo presents “Human Unreadable: Body not included” (2026), a new performance by Operator created on the occasion of “Strange Rules”.

Presented within “Attention Guild”, the ongoing installation by Mat Dryhurst and Holly Herndon in collaboration with SUB, the performance exposes the choreographic infrastructure of “Human Unreadable”, deploying the outputs of its algorithm as the raw material for a live performance the algorithm specifies but cannot itself perform.

In “Human Unreadable”, each minting transaction on the Ethereum blockchain generates a unique choreographic score, defining movement, tempo, orientation and emotional climate. While these scores are permanently stored on-chain, they remain incomplete until they are embodied by performers.

For this site-specific performance, dancers receive instructions through projected numbers and embody them live, while a suspended scroll materializes the complete output of the system, functioning as a complete archive of potential performances.

Created for “Strange Rules”, the work foregrounds the tension between protocol and embodiment. The score exists as infrastructure; the performance exists only through the temporary appearance of a body not included in the code.

From the intersection of nature and blockchain technology, Primavera De Filippi conceives the “Plantoid”: synthetic creatures that combine art, digital code and biology.

Their sustenance comes from cryptocurrencies, donated by viewers as they approach the installation.

At the culmination of this “pollination” phase, the Plantoid awakens and generates a work of art through generative AI. This produces a “digital seed” that materialises as an exclusive NFT, representing the final manifestation of the human-machine relationship.

PENUMBRA by Kelsey Lu (Kelsey Lu) and Yumna Al-Arashi () is now on view at Palazzo Diedo.

Developed from the live performance presented at the palazzo on 7 May 2026, the exhibition transforms its traces — soil, sound and charcoal — into a lasting installation.

Throughout the exhibition, the architecture of Palazzo Diedo becomes an active presence, while the body emerges as vessel, archive and site of power, moving through the witness, the devotee, the warrior, the lover and the ghost.
