Il 17 settembre A PICK GALLERY, in via Galliari 15/C, inaugura due mostre personali: “Carnalia: a plot for memory resistance” di Letizia Scarpello (Pescara, 1989) e “Domingo” di José Victor De Castro (Parauapebas, Brasile, 2000). Due ricerche differenti, accomunate da una riflessione sulla memoria come spazio vivo e in trasformazione, in cui esperienza personale, materia e immaginazione si intrecciano per dare forma a ciò che permane, si trasforma e continua ad affiorare nel presente.

On 17 September A PICK GALLERY, at Via Galliari 15/C in Turin, will open two solo exhibitions: “Carnalia: a plot for memory resistance” by Letizia Scarpello and “Domingo” by José Victor De Castro. Two different artistic practices, brought together by a reflection on memory as a living and constantly transforming space, where personal experience, matter and imagination intertwine to give form to what remains, changes and continues to emerge in the present.

The project emerges from the encounter between two complementary artistic practices. Letizia Scarpello works with textile matter as a body in transformation—between weight and suspension, creation and dissolution. Manuel Portioli develops an expanded, instinctive approach to painting, where layered gestures and color extend beyond the canvas to shape immersive environments.

For ArteSantander, the stand becomes a space where painting and sculpture merge into a single spatial experience. Portioli’s stratified surfaces and gestural interventions interact with Scarpello’s suspended textile forms, whose pigments permeate the fibers, turning fabric into a living pictorial surface.

THE GEOMETRY OF PLACES

The exhibition brings together the work of Michael Conrads, Riccardo Dapino and James Scott Brooks in a dialogue about how places can be interpreted, reduced, transformed and reconstructed through geometry. Though their approaches differ, all three artists use geometric structures as tools to rethink landscape, space and language.

Presented at Pep Llabrés Art Contemporani in Palma de Mallorca as part of the exchange between TAG Torino Art Galleries and Art Palma Contemporani, the exhibition reflects on the idea of place as a system of relationships, forms and invisible structures waiting to be discovered.

The fair has just come to a close, and we would like to thank everyone who shared these days with us.

We presented a solo exhibition by Mila Dobrevska (Skopje, 1999), whose practice spans tapestries, mosaics, and painting, reflecting on themes of memory and identity.

We are also proud to announce that we have received the Premio Acquisición Colección Manuel García for the work “Abbraccio Addormentato”. This is a meaningful recognition for our first participation in and an important milestone that we are delighted to share.

WHEN/IF I GROW UP, THERE WILL BE NO WARS AND WE WILL BE TOGETHER

For Leila, photographing is not a detached act of witnessing, but a biographical necessity — a way of responding to a crucial question: how do we love, laugh, and imagine the future when the horizon is marked by uncertainty?
The images on display portray a generation that shares the same desires as their peers across the world, yet lives under a different sky. We see bodies reaching for one another, gazes charged with vital melancholy, moments of togetherness suspended in time. War does not appear through physical ruins, but through an almost spiritual intensity of presence, a background noise, a shadow that makes colors more saturated and smiles more urgent.
