COLLI gallery art space - publishing platform - bookshop Hosting project-room with artists/editor and cooperative operations with other spaces, editorial projects and labels.

COLLI independent art gallery is space for contemporary art in Rome, dedicated to the dialogue between artworks, unique works, and printed matter works editions and multiples. The structure is divided into three main areas: the art space that hosts the exhibition programs of the artists, the publishing platform, a collaborative tool for publishing and co-editing unrealised and research projects with other realities of the productive landscape; and the bookstore, direct sale shop and bibliographical study for specialized consulting addressed to private collections, museums and archives in the field of rare and artist’s contemporary publishing. The works proposed and the productions of the project-room will deal with mixed media installation, site specific works, painting, sculpture, multiplied art of different formats, rare and artist's off-media publishing, work-book, prints, network art, social photography, editions and multiples in special and limited edition. The orientation of the gallery is linked to the concept of independence with the intention of focus on the art market close to new collettings and an accessible dimension of the art work; a social inclination of the space, shifted more on the cultural and transissive value than the exclusive commercial system. The aim is to build an ipergallery network of projects that conveys each specificity of the consortium and construct an autonomous and remunerative exchange of the artistic work, understood as a "browsable or navigable" cultural common good.

L'Intruso. Pesce Khete

GAM Galeria Civica d'arte Moderna e Contemporanea Torino

21.05 - 01.11.2026

The artist has been invited to intervene within the galleries of the exhibition *Another Twentieth Century. Works on Paper from the GAM Collection*, establishing new dialogues between his works and those of key twentieth- century figures such as Alberto Savinio, Luigi Spazzapan, and Lucio Fontana.
Among Italian artists of his generation, Pesce Khete stands out for having chosen paper as his primary medium. Within the physicality of the sheet, he discovers the possibility of unexpected “stitches” made with adhesive tape, while embracing the expanses of white as spaces of silence—to be either respected or deliberately disrupted.

YES YES YES is a visual essay, a book of images that examines the role of alternative, underground, and countercultural press during a flourishing period: 1966-1977. Publishers, authors, radical practitioners of that scene, interviewed in this book, rethink those actions and publications that touched on the themes of social urgency for change. YYY primarily deals with the visual culture of cheap magazines printed in offset, their stunning graphics, and their liberated aesthetics integrated with the system of activism and political interventions. In this way, the newspaper pages address facts and news, but also support the subversive style and the fervent atmosphere that formed a social network of printers, creative autonomies, and distribution unions. In this systemic innovation, the democratization of printing stimulated experimentation in graphic design on one hand and the growth of editorial practice in a community-wide culture on the other.

His works on paper engage in a dialogue with key figures of twentieth-century Italian art, from Alberto Savinio to Lucio Fontana, situating themselves among the historical holdings of the GAM through a visual language shaped by interruptions, revisions, and layered techniques. Khete’s intervention disrupts the conventional reading of the galleries, opening up unexpected trajectories that resonate with the philosophy of L’Intruso: a presence that generates surprising visions and fosters new relationships between artworks and museum collections.

The show is curated by Elena Volpato and Fabio Cafagna and it's on view until 01.11.2026

Batia Suter - 'Yard'

2015, edition of 50 copies numbered and signed, screenprint on 250 gsm white uncoated paper, 100x140 cm.

In Yard, Batia Suter constructs a layered image in which the recurring motif of marine flora intertwines with references to the monumental architecture of Rome, evoking forms reminiscent of the Pantheon and St. Peter’s Basilica. Drawn from different visual and temporal contexts, these elements are reassembled within a single pictorial field through a process of montage that suspends their original meanings and activates new possibilities of interpretation.

The seascapes, conceptually oriented toward the Tiber River, establish a symbolic connection between the river and the city, between the natural world and the historical and architectural realm. Through this continual slippage between water, vegetation, and built structure, the image relinquishes any descriptive function and becomes a mental landscape, where forms behave as hybrid, almost totemic presences.

Suter’s method, grounded in the transformation and recontextualization of images, gives rise to a dreamlike and unstable space governed by an internal logic rather than a narrative one. Removed from their documentary origins, the images acquire a new “immunogenicity,” responding to one another and generating a field of visual tensions in which meaning remains open, fluid, and in a constant state of

Commissioned for an exhibition at Apex Art in New York and turned around for use as the exhibition publicity image, this is an unaltered high-resolution Photoshop digital scan of a wristwatch. Placing the watch directly on the scanner and adjusting the resolution at which the scan produced the image. During a high-resolution scan, the scanning head moves slowly down the flatbed while the watch (and time itself) continues to move, of course, forward. The second hand doesn't wait for the scanner, resulting in this bent image.
