ArtVerona 2026

Andrea Festa presents Silvia Giordani, Carlotta Mazzariol and Kazuhito Kawai in the Pittura (Ora) section, curated by Leonardo Regano.

The presentation brings together paintings by two artists from the Veneto region and ceramic sculptures by Japanese artist Kazuhito Kawai. Giordani’s landscapes, Mazzariol’s figures and Kawai’s layered surfaces offer three distinct approaches to image-making and the use of colour.

Today is the final day of the fair, open until 7 pm. Come by and say hello.

In Bernadet’s Fugue paintings, repeated brushstrokes accumulate into an all-over field with no single focal point. From a distance, color merges into an atmospheric image; up close, individual marks re-emerge and the surface begins to vibrate.

The series is less about representing a landscape than about retaining the sensation of one — something closer to an afterimage or a memory of light. Repetition, variation and rhythm give the paintings an almost musical structure, while keeping perception deliberately unstable.

Bernadet’s work is held in major public and institutional collections including Fondation Louis Vuitton, Museum Voorlinden, Long Museum, MAC VAL, CNAP/FNAC, Fondation Villa Datris and JPMorgan Chase Collection. He was also artist-in-residence at the Chinati Foundation, Marfa.

Andrea Festa presents Jean-Baptiste Bernadet and Sinéad Breslin at Untitled Art, bringing together two distinct approaches to painting through a shared sensitivity to colour, memory and emotional presence.

Bernadet’s layered abstractions unfold through shifting rhythms of light and colour, while Breslin’s portraits draw us into the intimate worlds of friends, family and familiar interiors.
Between atmospheric fields and moments of recognition, the presentation invites a slower, closer look.

We look forward to welcoming you to our booth.

In The Meeting, Breslin turns a seemingly simple encounter into a psychologically charged scene. The figures remain small within an elaborate architectural setting of plants, tiles, doors and decorative surfaces, allowing the environment to become almost as present as the people themselves.

Rather than describing a fixed narrative, the painting holds the moment in suspension: scale, distance and setting create a subtle tension between intimacy and separation, while the vivid palette keeps the image visually immediate.

Breslin’s work is held in public and institutional collections including San Antonio Museum of Art, Hudson Valley MOCA, X Museum, Xiao Museum and the Alex Katz Foundation.

In this grid-based painting, Bernadet uses repetition as a structure rather than a rigid system. Each painted unit remains visibly handmade, irregular and chromatically unstable, so the apparent order of the grid is constantly softened by shifts in tone, touch and density.

Seen from a distance, the painting reads as a coherent field of color; up close, its structure begins to dissolve into individual brush decisions. The work reflects Bernadet’s broader interest in perception, repetition and the tension between visual order and painterly uncertainty.

In Still Life Study, Breslin turns a quiet domestic arrangement into a meditation on memory, presence and absence. A bottle, covered dish and small red fruit sit against a restrained, almost smoky interior, reducing the scene to a few familiar objects charged with mood.

The work anticipates many of the concerns that continue through Breslin’s recent practice: the emotional weight of ordinary things, the intimacy of domestic space, and the way memory can transform a simple still life into something psychologically resonant.

[…]Anastasiya Tarasenko extends this
reflection into the realm of emotional landscapes, where figuration becomes a metaphor for
internal states of unease. Confronting the precarious existential condition of troubled times,
her work finds in archetypal and mythological figures new allegories for approaching the
unexplainable present: what happens when reality becomes so tragic and absurd that it no
longer allows for answers, only silence? […]

Before color becomes color, there is light. Before painting becomes an image, there is silence: the silence of contemplation before a charged, luminous field in which everything is still potentially possible. For the artist, as much as for the viewer. […]

Detached from the playing field, these gestures—holding, comforting, embracing—become open to new readings, revealing how context shapes our understanding of masculinity, vulnerability, and care.
