On 01/01/2018 I activated the page "Umbria Excellencies" with the aim of making known for free the countless beauties of our extraordinary Umbria, such as lush nature, villages, landscapes, lakes, rivers, valleys, hills, mountains , the rich fau

na, monuments, historic buildings, events, entertainment but also to support its excellence consisting of the many activities and services related to the world of tourism. After Facebook we activated Instagram, Linkedin, TikTok, Twitter and other social profiles to try to reach as many people as possible in order to make them discover the beautiful land of Umbria. () The "Palio della Brocca" (Pitcher Race) in Deruta, Umbria, is a historical festival and costume reenactment held every year between late August and early September.

The event commemorates what happened in 1832 when an earthquake destroyed the town's aqueduct. The women of Deruta had to walk all the way to the Tiber River to fetch water and carry it through the narrow alleys to the ceramic workshops and local families.

The festival celebrates Deruta's rich majolica tradition.

The three historical districts (Rioni) competing to win the palio are Piazza, Valle and Borgo.

() Il Palio della Brocca a Deruta, in Umbria, è una festa storica e una rievocazione in costume che si tiene ogni anno tra la fine di agosto e l'inizio di settembre.
L'evento vuole ricordare ciò che accadde nel 1832.

Un terremoto ruppe l'acquedotto della città. Le donne di Deruta dovettero camminare fino al fiume Tevere per prendere l'acqua e portarla alle botteghe di ceramica e alle famiglie passando per i vicoli.

La festa celebra la grande tradizione della maiolica di Deruta.

I tre rioni storici che si sfidano per vincere il palio sono Piazza, Valle e Borgo.

() You know what gets you about this land? It never gives you just one reason to love it becouse it puts ten different ones right in front of you on the very same day.

You spend the morning filling your lungs on Monte Cucco, with the wind, the open sky, totally immersed in nature. A few hours later, you find yourself walking through the olive groves around Trevi, with that pale green shimmering in the light. Then you stop in Perugia in front of the Temple of Sant’Angelo, which feels like it’s standing there guarding an ancient silence, or you catch yourself looking up in awe at the Cathedral of Spoleto, wondering how anyone could build something so beautiful. And by evening, you might end up breathing in the pure peace of tiny spots like Poggio Lavarino, where time has literally come to a standstill.

That’s the thing it’s this strange mix of grand nature and living stone that stays inside you. No need to make plans but just come here, take the first step and let yourself be carried away.

() I came with no expectations. Ended up finding quiet that actually helps, people who talk to you like you’ve known each other forever, and views that fix your mood without even trying.
I wasn’t looking for anything... but somehow I found everything!
