Museo Enzo Ferrari

Museo Enzo Ferrari So much more than a museum, it is an exciting, absorbing spectacle with a truly unique mix of ingredients.

Museo Enzo Ferrari (MEF)

The Museo Enzo Ferrari and the Engine Museum (also known as the MEF) in Modena opened on February 18, 2012 and have been under Ferrari management since January 2014. The futuristic pavilion spans more than 2500 square meters and is completely unsupported by columns, and it is here that the many cars exhibited are accompanied by a range of innovative special effects, creat

ed by an immersive architectural multi-projection display which is one of the largest ever built in a museum. The visual designer responsible for the project, Paolo Buroni, incorporated a number of artistic concepts into this design which have never been seen before in this type of museum. A film is repeated at regular intervals through a whopping 19 projectors, allowing the visitor to feel completely "enveloped" and surrounded by a spectacular multidimensional effect which reaches from floor to ceiling. This emotional adventure accompanies the visitor through the magical story of the 90-year life of Enzo Ferrari, reliving the art, the drama and atmosphere of the time, just as if they had stepped into a time machine. A real "leap" into the world of Ferrari, accompanied by powerfully evocative images and a rousing soundtrack. The museum also tells the story of the element that Ferrari has always considered to be the most important in the car: the engine. An extensive range of these are displayed, from the classic, legendary V12 to examples of all the different models made or tested by Ferrari. These include the 10 cylinder of Formula 1, the 8 cylinder for racing and road cars, the 6 cylinder like the Formula 1 Turbo, the Dino, the 4 cylinder celebrated for winning the first two Ascari world titles and even the 2 cylinder, which has been tested but never brought onto the track. The cars on display are those which pay testament to the adventure of the man who gave the brand its famous name, charting his life as a driver in the 20s, Scuderia master of ceremonies in the 30s and manufacturer from 1947.
