At Panorama Pozzuoli, the city itself becomes a living exhibition: a continuous promenade through a stratified landscape where myth, geology, and history converge. Curated by Italics, the project transforms Pozzuoli into a dynamic, open ecosystem—an evolving palimpsest that connects aesthetic experiences, participatory practices, and shared knowledge. Here, ancient deities, volcanic landscapes, and contemporary voices meet, asking how the sacred, natural, and human continue to redefine themselves in the visible world.
Among the works on view is 60 Minutes (2021) by Elmgreen & Dragset, a sculptural intervention that reimagines the traditional plinth as a marble washing machine. Perched atop sits a contemplative boy, also carved from the same stone, as if paused mid-thought or simply waiting for the cycle to end. By merging domestic functionality with sculptural tradition, the work reflects on labor, waiting, and the very frameworks—both symbolic and physical—that shape our perception of art.
