kaufmann repetto

kaufmann repetto The gallery after ten years in its historic location, opened in October 2010 its new space in the Brera area of Milan under the new name kaufmann repetto.

francesca kaufmann inaugurated in January 2000 with a seven-channel video-installation by Candice Breitz ‘The Babel Series’, previewed a few months before at the Istanbul Biennale. Since opening, the gallery has aimed at hosting ambitious exhibitions and site-specific installations, encompassing a range of media including, video, photography, performance, painting and sculpture. The new gallery is

designed by architect Frank Boehm. The growth of the gallery’s artists brought forth the need to enlarge its exhibition spaces, in order to welcome more ambitious projects, articulated in a series of rooms as well as an exterior courtyard, an integral part of the new space. In addition to the existing and long-standing roster of artists, the gallery added new names, such as Thea Djordjadze and Shannon Ebner, whose shows inaugurated the space, Matt Sheridan Smith and Talia Chetrit. The gallery’s constant research, directed with particular attention to a younger generation of artists, will be developed, in part, through a special project room that will run parallel to the gallery’s exhibition program. In the context of fairs, kaufmann repetto strives to present installations that put aside commercially viable formats in place of curatorial ones: Latifa Echakhch’s site specific installation Plainte at Art Basel Miami Beach 2010, Pae White’s ceiling installation REDD at Fiac 2010, Adrian Paci’s 35mm film Per Speculum at The Armory Show 2007, Candice Breitz’s four-dual channel installation Four Duets at Art Basel Miami Beach 2007 attests to this dedication, as does Lily Van der Stokker’s wall painting installation, No reason, no goal for gallery’s booth at Frieze in 2008 and Gianni Caravaggio’s 2009 Statement at Art Basel, titled Principio. The gallery has worked for the placement of its artists in the following institutions: the Solomon Guggenheim Foundation, Kunsthaus Zurich, the Centre Pompidou, Tate Modern, Museum of Modern Art, Fundaciò Caixa Collection, The Jerusalem Museum, Moderna Museet, The Queensland Art Museum, Castello di Rivoli, St. Gallen Museum, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León (MUSAC), Fondation Nationale de Art Contemporain (FNAC), Sammlung Goetz and the MAXXI in Rome.

The exhibition pinkypussypunk presents works produced during a new phase in the lives of the members of the artist collective Atelier dell’Errore (Atelier of Mistakes) : the as*xual insects of the early years have evolved into pubescent creatures with new anatomical features, unmistakably s*xual in nature. The children who took part in the workshops twenty years ago have become young adults, and s*x now lies at the center of their imagination, thoughts, and impulses. The monstrous creatures once conceived as guardian animals against the bullying they suffered at school have become libidinous beings that give shape to desire. The explosion of acrylic colors and flesh-pink tones goes hand in hand with the shift in subject matter in this new cycle of works — a return to color after a long “golden age” that had characterized AdE’s work in recent years.

Andrea Bowers is currently included in “30% Dandelion” at Kunsthaus Graz, Graz

through November 8th, 2026

“Under the title 30% Dandelion, the exhibition at Kunsthaus Graz brings together more than 35 works dedicated to the flower and its direct connection to humans: humans share 30% of their genetic material with the flower. In the works, we encounter the melancholy of a crumbling present. At the same time, they take us on a journey into the familiar, beautiful, and intoxicating aesthetics of the flower and its exuberant expression of vitality.”

“Campanini’s works develop through a layered process that moves between physical construction and digital elaboration. Objects assembled in the studio are often provisional and unstable, and are translated into sequences of manipulated images, which are then filtered, redrawn, and ultimately resolved in painting. Rather than producing
definitive forms, this process generates figures that feel precise in appearance yet
subtly dislocated from within. The digital passage does not serve to define the image, but to disturb it — breaking apart its logic, introducing shifts and inconsistencies, and opening it to further transformation before it returns to painting.”

“Meditative and calm, yet at the same time radiant and seductive, her paintings exude a profound appreciation for the physical world as a site for sensory as
well as spiritual experiences. For the artist, the universe, the earth and all existing life are manifestations of the ‘creation’ in an almost biblical sense, and ‘Towards’ - the title of the Milanese exhibition - reflects her own empathic gaze and posture. Echoing the pioneering essay ‘The Sense of Wonder’ by protoenvironmentalist Rachel Carson, Kim says: “I believe that humans should ultimately
get closer to nature. I hope through experiencing my work, viewers might feel the mystery and wonder of the world around them, and the gratitude for our presence in it”

“As Sullivan has noted, the speed of the mark mirrors the inevitability of decay: flowers wilt as they are painted, time collapses into gesture. These works become incidental monuments—intimate, unassuming, yet insistent—they bottle the ephemeral momentum underlying every instant, drawing together these intimate perspectives carefully woven over the years, a manifesto of life’s fleeting pleasures.”

Talia Chetrit’s exhibition “Bunny” will open June 5th at Lázaro Galdiano Museum, Madrid, curated by Stella Bottai and organized by the LOEWE Foundation on the occasion of PHotoEspaña 2026.

For her first institutional solo exhibition in Spain, photographer Talia Chetrit presents “Bunny”, a selection of works that moves playfully between portraiture, tableaux, and still life. The artist proposes a distinctive curatorial approach, placing past and present photographs in dialogue within a single visual sequence. These juxtapositions recode older images, creating simultaneity—both visual and semantic—between subjects and scenes that might otherwise feel distant.
