During “La Notte degli Archivi 2026” the Archivio Atelier will exhibit some paintings by Pharaildis Van den Broeck featuring the onion, a recurring element in the Belgian artist’s artworks that assumes a symbolic value in her imagery.
Its representation changes over time, transitioning from realistic evocations typical of Flemish still lifes to more expressionistic traits that recall the style of Dutch painter Karel Appel.

On the occasion of “La Notte degli Archivi 2026” Archivio Atelier Pharaildis Van den Broeck is pleased to announce a special opening on Friday 5 June 2026 from 2 pm to 8 pm.

During the afternoon, there will be four guided tours led by the Archive’s curator, Barbara Garatti, at 4.00 pm, 5.00 pm, 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm.

Milano MuseoCity 2026 is just around the corner! Among the previously unseen Pharaildis Van den Broeck’s artworks on display at the Archivio Atelier in the coming days will be the painting “1.05.2007: Liverpool – Chelsea 1-0 Agger’s decisive goal,” one of the artist’s most representative artworks dedicated to the theme of football.
At the center of the painting, Liverpool and Chelsea players face each other on the football field at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool for the 2006-2007 Champions League semi-final return leg: the action is framed by a red backdrop reminiscent of a theater, a visual representation of the common football slang term “ entertaining football.” ⚽️🎨

On the occasion of Museo Segreto, the exhibition “Fellowship with essence” will be staged, featuring a number of previously unseen Pharaildis Van den Broeck’s artworks. 🧅 💖

Archivio Atelier Pharaildis Van den Broeck is lending some artworks to the San Siro Stadium Museum in Milan for the temporary exhibition “San Siro. Luogo di Arte, Cultura e Sport”, included in the official program of Milano MuseoCity 2026, open from February 11 to March 15, 2026.

In the artworks on display, Pharaildis Van den Broeck carefully selects newspaper pages on which to work, using paint to highlight Milan and Inter players and iconic headlines. 🧅⚽️🎨
