🌟 Celebrating impact: Dompé Foundation in numbers 🌟

Since 2020, the Dompé Foundation has awarded over 120 scholarships, investing around 8.5 million euros to support young students from various nationalities in pursuing their STEM studies across Italy and the US.

Our goal for the future is to enable an increasing number of young talents to complete STEM pathways and empower them to become future innovators.

Without talent, there is no innovation. Without knowledge, there is no development.

We are proud to introduce you to Josep-Maria Balaguer! A promising 33-year-old student from Spain, driven by the ambition to revolutionize the field of human health and well-being.

A few days ago, we had the pleasure of attending ’s 2024 Scholarship Event, an exciting gathering where donors had the opportunity to connect with their scholarship recipients.

It was great for us to catch up with some of the talented winners of the “Fondazione Dompé Student Awards” and delve deeper into their backgrounds, passions and future plans. While .minicucci, and are enthusiastically pursuing their Masters of Science in Economics and Management of Innovation and Technology, is excitedly nearing the completion of his Master in Economic and Social Sciences.

Fresh off his Master’s degree in Applied Data Science from .it (he graduated just a month ago!), plans to dive immediately into the data science industry. He is eager to apply his data analysis skills in a dynamic environment to design innovative solutions for real-world challenges.

With a Master’s degree in Biomedical Omics from , is continuing the research project she started during her internship in Professor Simona Polo’s laboratory at . Her focus is on exploring the mechanism of oncogenic isoforms expression in colorectal cancer.

Having recently earned a Master’s degree in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies from , is preparing to embark on a new role within the neurological line of an innovative nutraceuticals company. She is thrilled to start working in an environment that values scientific research and actively supports social and environmental initiatives.

Over the years, the Nobel Prize has seen a mere 6.7% of female winners since its establishment in 1901. The underrepresentation is even more pronounced when it comes to STEM fields, with Medicine at 5.72%, Chemistry at 4.18%, and Physics at just 2.22%. Despite these gender disparities, the number of female Nobel laureates has been rising since the early 2000s. In particular, 2023 was a notable year, with US-born Claudia Goldin winning the Economics Prize, Anne L’Huillier from Sweden triumphing in Physics, and Katalin Karikò from Hungary claiming the Medicine Prize.
