Mads Hyldgaard Nielsen
my throat is a corridor, 2026

Nielsen explores painting as a space of transformation, where bodies, landscapes, light and matter continuously emerge and dissolve. Drawing on Renaissance, Mannerist and Baroque traditions, he reactivates their dramatic compositions and physical intensity to address contemporary experiences of desire, vulnerability and change. His figures appear suspended between ecstasy and collapse, beauty and violence, destruction and rebirth. Moving between figuration and abstraction, Nielsen creates images that resist fixed narratives and invite the viewer into a visceral, sensory encounter with painting.

The work will be presented by Tempesta Gallery at Enter Art Fair in Copenhagen, from 26 to 30 August 2026

Today is the final day to experience Celestial Bodies, the exhibition by Diana Orving.

Presented as part of the Milles exhibition series — an ongoing project that places the total work of art of Millesgården in active dialogue with the present — the exhibition invites contemporary artists to create site-specific installations in relation to the unique environment of the Artist’s Home and sculpture park.

Within these spaces, Orving’s suspended textile sculptures enter into dialogue with Carl Milles’s mythological and celestial universe. Silk, linen and abaca intertwine into ethereal forms that evoke clouds, wind, plants in motion and birds in flight — creating an atmosphere suspended between earth and sky.

Celestial Bodies reflects on transformation, gravity, and humanity’s eternal desire to transcend boundaries, where past and present meet in a poetic and cosmic encounter.

Millesgården continues its ambition to remain a place for artistic exploration and innovation through encounters between historical legacy and contemporary artistic practices.

Soft Control

A dense and silent web runs through the everyday.
Imperceptible restrictions, minimal gestures, invisible structures shape our imagination without openly imposing themselves.

Control no longer manifests as spectacular force, but as diffuse seduction — as a system operating in depth, defining the very boundaries of our experience.

Soft Control emerges within this fracture:
between latent violence and the possibility of imagining alternatives.

The exhibition brings into dialogue the painterly practices of Paulina Aumayr and Lorenzo Conforti, two approaches that interrogate the invisible dispositifs acting upon body and mind.

Aumayr explores, through a feminist perspective, the tensions between desire and trauma, seduction and threat, returning a suspended and unsettling narrative that challenges patriarchal structures.

Conforti, by contrast, constructs hybrid and unstable bodies, resisting a univocal reading and slowing down perception, in a continuous negotiation between form, matter and meaning.

Between ambiguity and tension, the works open a space of suspension:
a possibility of resistance that does not assert itself, but rather infiltrates — slowly — the gaze.
