To mark the eagerly awaited annual event with Genova Start , our gallery is delighted to present the exhibition “The Circle”, marking the debut of the British artist Emily Bartlett at our gallery.

The exhibition takes place against the evocative backdrop of Genoa’s ‘White Night of Contemporary Art’, celebrating the start of the new season with an international and original programme.

Through a selection of works created and conceived specifically for the occasion, Emily Bartlett presents her stylistic exploration to our audience for the first time, offering a profound reflection on the theme of inner transformation. A unique opportunity to discover a new artistic voice with a European outlook in a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.

Dal 2 al 4 ottobre, START accende l’arte a Genova trasformando il centro storico in un museo diffuso.

In questa edizione della notte bianca della gallerie genovesi, si aggiungono due giorni di apertura straordinaria, per immergersi in un viaggio unico tra pittura, scultura, fotografia, performance live e appuntamenti interattivi.

Catasta began a career as a flutist and “ottavinista” in the most prestigious classical orchestras. Now she is an artist and director.

The cycle of clouds arises from the need to fix a light, a color, the instant of wonder that makes us ignore time, bringing it back to sensations, memories, sounds.
In a synesthetic parallel where form is melody, Sylvia’s clouds are a celebration of the sound mixture, of color as the light that creates images and emotions, always subjective and individual.

✨ Lorenzo Cecilioni: matter becomes a medium for evoking one’s own experience ✨

The uniqueness of the work translates for the artist above all into experimentation. And, indeed, he operates by “solve et coagula.” His workshop is almost an alchemical cavern in which the artistic work receives tactile connotations through the skilful selection of different primitive, “poor” and sometimes unusual materials, transformed and altered in a constant transmutation. Nothing is repeatable.

The gesture and the material become the protagonists of an action, sometimes playful, in which the raw elements are cut, twisted, bent, polished or even led to rust. With lucid boldness and delicate diligence.
Matter, in this way, reveals itself, makes itself felt, loses or gains lightness, yields or acquires spaces, planes and dimensions.

✨ Paolo Ceribelli: Limit is a mindset ✨

Through the use of colored soldiers and other small elements, obsessively aligned on the canvas creating geographic maps, circles, ranks and other installations of great plasticity, he restates the geo-historical presence of a constant and dominant thought of war, seeking to weaken its distressing presence with the fantastic transfiguration of the elements linked to the battle, such as soldiers and tanks wisely used as if they were strokes of color.

“Why do children play with an object that represents war? This was the first question I asked myself.
I tried to destroy the boundaries that exist between the form and its conceptual content with the idea of ennobling the toy soldier, through its reuse.”

trying to understand it ✨

Protagonist of the artistic movement “New Italian figuration”, with her refined painting the artist investigates the multiple expressiveness of the human body.

The characters investigated deal almost exclusively with the female universe and the bodies portrayed are striking for their realism in detail but at the same time contain an aura of poetry, of dream, of invention that lies as much in the colors as in the choice of shots.

✨ Michela Crisostomi: my paintings are like walls ✨

The artworks of Michela Crisostomi, representing subjects captured in intimate moments and languishing abandonment, are characterized by a personalized classical composure rendered with elegance by emotional nuances, in a dimension of lyrical intensity.

They are orphans of old frescoes, which belonged to successive layers of plaster, overlapped and incomplete, partly lost, with the presence of metal that sometimes remains residual.
Figures that belonged to another time and another space, trapped in the old walls, scratched and worked by time.
