The game of Snakes & Ladders has its roots in morality lessons, where the player's progression up the board represents a life journey complicated by virtues (ladders) and vices (snakes). It also stands to show the uncertainty of life and how its not always a fair game. The efficiency of the game in doing so with such playfulness enables the player to subconsciously relate life instances with the game. One of the key reasons for choosing the game of Snakes and Ladders was to highlight the universality of the Indian game. The portfolio aims to reciprocate its simplicity and playfulness through prints.
The techniques used are etching, woodcut, serigraphy, lithography and digital prints on archival paper. The size of each print is approximately 15 x 11 inches. Edition size is 40.
