Glimpses from the opening of Saruha Kilaru's solo exhibition at the Surendra Paul Art Gallery.

The exhibition explores water as a carrier of memory, transformation, and interconnectedness—the central ethos of Saruha's practice. Featuring works across glass, textiles, printmaking, sculpture, and installation, the exhibition reflects on ecology, perception, and the fragile worlds sustained by water.

We thank everyone who joined us for the opening and for contributing to an evening of meaningful conversations around the exhibition.

Sangeet Shyamala presents, ‘Metropolis: Layers of a Living Structure’, a transformative series of works that explores the city as a site of emotional topography. Born in Delhi, Alka Jhamb’s multicoloured surfaces display the evolving nature of architecture. She approaches the city from a deeply personal and introspective perspective conveyed in a language that is minimalistic.

These compositions are reconfigured with the use of discarded materials, fragments of wood, industrial remnants, and found objects. Through these tactile interventions, the flat canvas appears as three-dimensional terrain, evoking a sense of movement, depth and density. In this collection of work, the metropolis functions as both an archive and a mirror.

We warmly invite you to visit and experience this exhibition ✨
