This printmaking work, executed using the collograph relief method, presents a rich iconography of “Koli Jeeva,” symbolizing the life, culture, and environment of the fishing community. Immersed in the vast blue expanse of the sea, the fishermen cast their nets with hope and faith. The shimmering stars reflected on the water appear as blessings, rewarding their labor with nets brimming with fish. Carrying this precious harvest back to the shore, they sustain their lives through hard work and an unbreakable bond with the sea.
Yet, the sea is never constant. Each day brings a new rhythm, a new challenge. There are moments when the hunter becomes the hunted, and survival demands courage, adaptability, and strength. The fishermen confront unpredictable tides, storms, and uncertainties, shaping a life defined by resilience and perseverance. These harsh realities do not diminish their spirit; instead, they cultivate a deep appreciation for life.
