The National Museum of Indian Cinema welcomed Ms. Małgorzata Wejsis-Gołębiak- Director of the Polish Institute, New Delhi, for a special visit celebrating cinema as a bridge between cultures.

Felicitated by Mr. D Ramakrishnan- GM, NFDC, she was guided through the museum by the DGM-Museum Curator, experiencing its rich collection of exhibits- from early storytelling traditions and archival treasures to interactive installations that bring film history to life.

'GUEST HOUSE' (1959) -

A gripping crime melodrama that serves as a moral fable of truth and betrayal. Directed by Ravindra Dave, the film follows the intertwined lives of two friends- Amar and Manohar, as they navigate a path of idealism, revenge and redemption in the bustling city of Bombay.

Experience this classic 1950's thriller restored by NFAI- featuring a powerhouse cast including Ajit and Shakila, alongside Pran in one of his most compelling negative roles. This week at NMIC, watch 'Pabuji Ki Phad' (Documentary) :

A fascinating exploration of a 700-year-old Rajasthani storytelling tradition. The documentary centers on Pabuji, a legendary figure believed to be an avatar of Laxman and worshipped as a warrior saint.

Witness the vibrant oral history of the Bhill community and the role of Bhopas (traditional balladeers) in passing down these epic tales against the backdrop of a 15-foot-long painting known as a Phad.

The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and the National Museum of Indian Cinema (NMIC) had the honour of welcoming Shri G. Krishnakumar- Chairman, NFDC on 16th April 2026.

The visit featured a specially curated tour of NMIC, offering a layered and engaging perspective on the evolution of Indian Cinema- showcasing its transformation through archival treasures, interactive displays and landmark moments from the silent era to the present day.

The Chairman was accompanied by Shri Prakash Magdum- Managing Director, NFDC and Shri D Ramakrishnan- GM, NFDC. The tour was facilitated by the DGM-Museum Curator, who offered engaging perspectives on the museum’s collections, highlighting key developments in film technology and the creative achievements that define India’s cinematic journey.

The visit served to highlight NMIC as an important platform for engaging audiences with the history and evolution of Indian cinema.
