The Cube Gallery

The Cube Gallery Cube Gallery is one of the most creatively stimulating destinations of India. The modern vibe is evid Glamour plays a big role here, but substance is vital.

Set upon the lush terrain of Moira, the Cube Gallery comes as a chic surprise. The building, designed akin to a giant Rubik’s cube doubles up as both experience and destination for those who crave sophistication and novelty. This live-wire art hub is forever reinventing itself as it juggles art, animation, sculpture, ceramics, and design. It stays contemporary and dynamic by showing the works of e

stablished international artists, as well as emerging talent, acting as a conduit between the old and the new. The in-house store, café, residency space and closed-door events transform the gallery space into a nexus of creative outpourings and exchange. In a bid to further radicalize, the gallery is reaching out to contemporary visionaries while sustaining its international standards for art. Having made its mark at the very outset with its obsessive use of the cube motif, the gallery pulses on to the beat of what is original, relevant and even controversial in 2020.

Tamal Das () transforms scrap iron and industrial remnants into sculptural works that balance between the mechanical and the poetic. Using bolts, rods and metal fragments, he gives discarded materials a second life, turning waste into presence.

His practice reflects ideas of reuse, transformation and resilience, echoing biophilia as a cycle of coexistence rather than an idealised vision of nature.

Ritesh Uttamchandani () explores abandoned Goan homes slowly reclaimed by nature.
A house is more than walls, it once held safety, memory, and a sense of belonging. In these spaces, nature returns quietly yet persistently, reclaiming what was once human.
Shot on 120 black and white film and developed using coffee, the series embraces slow, sustainable processes. It reflects Biophilia not as harmony, but as inevitability, nature always finds its way back.

Nimmy Joshi (Nimmy Joshi) left architecture to reconnect with making by hand, finding in pottery a more intimate way to create. Since launching her miniature ceramics brand in Goa in 2015, her practice has grown into a quiet dialogue with nature, where boundaries between the living and the nonliving dissolve.

Co founder of Mudskippers Studio, she also supports a new generation of potters through community and shared knowledge. Today her work expands into mixed media, exploring identity as something deeply rooted in the natural world.

Working with the philosophy of Panchtatva, the five elements, Shyam Pahapalkar creates sculptures rooted in tribal memory, natural materials, and myth.
Coming from a tribal region himself, the artist brings stories where nature and human life cannot be separated, where belief, ecology, and imagination exist as one living system.
For Biophilia, natural textures meet subtle industrial elements, opening a new dialogue between nature, material, and mythology.

Nikunj Choradiya explores life as a self-sustaining cycle, where growth, decay, and renewal exist as one continuous movement.
In Chasing Itself, the spiral form echoes ancient rhythms of transformation, while in Coexistence organic materials — mycelium, wood, seeds, and mushrooms — become quiet witnesses of interdependence.
These works hold a fragile balance, reminding that life continues not through control, but through attention, care, and constant change.

In these ceramic sculptures, Thomas Louis () creates hybrid, creature-like forms that feel both ancient and imaginary, somewhere between birds, reptiles, shells, and human figures. His style combines traditional pottery techniques with expressive textures and layered glazes, giving each piece a strong tactile and organic presence. The works feel playful and mysterious at the same time, as if they belong to their own evolving mythology.

Biophilia is on view until 21/05/2026.

Sonja Weder’s Biotic Installations explore the dialogue between organic life and material transformation.
Hand-built papier-mâché forms are layered with natural pigments and embedded with seeds and plant residues.
Rooted in cycles of germination, decay, and renewal, the works exist between sculpture and organism.
A poetic reflection on the porous boundary between the human hand and the living world.

Biophilia is on view until 21/05/2026.
