The occasion was graced by Vikram Sampath, eminent historian and author, as the Chief Guest.

Fittingly, the book on one of Kotah’s greatest rulers was launched at the beautiful palace named in his honour, continuing to carry his legacy forward.

On this day, 19 August 1912, the foundation stone of Herbert College was laid by Colonel Charles Herbert himself, the British Political Agent in Kota. The institution commemorates his significant role in supporting Maharao Saheb Umed Singh Ji II and in shaping an important chapter of Kota’s history.
