The ninth essay of “Culture as Print” edition situates the print advertisements and posters of massage parlours, that have facilitated the creation of an alternative socio-economic and aesthetic enterprise, within a larger complex of print history in Kolkata. Reminiscent of Battala publications of early 19th century Bengal, these prints generate customers for businesses that are often not licensed.

Our film Farrago by Santasil Mallik will have its official premiere as a part of the prestigious 2020 YOUKI youth Media festival. The film is a part of the MEMORIES COMPETITION PROGRAM.

We will have live screenings at WWW.VODCLUB.ONLINE as mentioned in the image. Schedules are already in the image too, also it can be seen on youki's official website YOUKI.AT , tickets are available in their website too.

YOUKI, one of the most discussed festival with international focus. This Youth Media Festival held annually in November in Upper Austria. They concentrate "more on topic, content and current developments rather than cinematic perfection".

Farrago is an unkempt diary that generates a stream of audio-visual dissonance without an attempt to resolve it. While some parts of the varied montage traverse along with contemporary political issues, other parts blend fictional and documentary narratives to spawn a meaningless tale of a city and its fathomless vigor. This film failingly tries to construct a narrative out of small, disjointed and unassociated clips; yet, this failure itself is imbued with sporadic instances of political statements.
