This , we celebrate Krishna through the timeless visual language of 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗥𝗼𝘆. His bold contours, rhythmic strokes and earthy palette transform a familiar devotional scene into a world of simplicity, warmth and quiet celebration. At the centre, Krishna plays his flute, surrounded by two motherly figures bearing butter—evoking the intimate, pastoral world of his childhood. The richly textured surface, characteristic of Roy’s later works, further adds to the painting’s tactile quality.

In this striking watercolour, saffron, white and green unfold organically across the landscape, echoing the colours of the Indian tricolour while retaining the atmospheric, dreamlike quality that defines Poddar’s practice.

His mastery of the wash technique allows colour and water to flow into one another, softening horizons and creating a landscape that feels both rooted in nature and deeply evocative of place.

This Independence Day, we celebrate the colours of our land, the beauty of its landscapes, and the enduring spirit of freedom.

Drawn to the landscapes of Northern Bengal from an early age, Poddar found a profound artistic calling in the hills of Darjeeling. His deep connection with nature continues to shape his practice, expressed through his mastery of the wash technique.

With successive layers of translucent washes, luminous pigments, and intricate strokes, Poddar creates landscapes where horizons dissolve and the distinction between earth and sky becomes beautifully elusive.

His paintings invite us into landscapes that feel less observed than remembered—quiet, atmospheric, and suspended somewhere between reality and reverie.

Inspired by a chance encounter in the wild, Chand reimagines the majestic animal through grace, playfulness, and serenity. Far removed from conventional portrayals of ferocity, his tigers exist in harmony with the dense foliage and the vibrant life that surrounds them—simply inhabiting, observing, and belonging.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 brought together the collective journey of 𝗔𝗻𝘂𝗽 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝘂𝗯𝗵𝗿𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱, anchoring their position as some of the most revolutionary contemporary artists of the Indian art world. The show not only reflected on their 25-year-long journey as a married couple, but as two individuals who have dedicated their lives to art.
