Situated near Sanka village about 20 km from Narsinghgarh, Sankaji-Ki-Chhatri (Shyamji Ka Mandir) was built by Rani Bhagyavati in memory of Raja Shyam Singh, commemorating his martyrdom. Constructed during the 16th–17th century CE, the temple stands on a high rectangular platform within a small fortified enclosure marked by ramparts, bastions and Rajasthani-style jharokhas. डॉ. विष्णु श्रीधर वाकणकर जी की पुण्यतिथि के अवसर पर 02.04. 2026 को आयोजित व्याख्यानमाला में उनके महत्वपूर्ण पुरातात्विक योगदान को स्मरण किया गया।

इस अवसर पर आयुक्त-सह-निदेशक, संचालनालय पुरातत्व, अभिलेखागार एवं संग्रहालय श्री. मदन विभीषण नागरगोजे (IAS) की अध्यक्षता में पद्मश्री डॉ. नारायण व्यास, श्री कैलाश चंद्र पाण्डे, डॉ. मनोज कुमार कुर्मी एवं डॉ. सुरेश कुमार दुबे ने अपने विचार साझा किए। वक्ताओं ने वाकणकर जी की शोध परंपरा, समर्पण और भारतीय पुरातत्व को नई दिशा देने में उनकी भूमिका पर प्रकाश डाला।

कार्यक्रम का संचालन डॉ. ध्रुवेन्द्र सिंह जोधा द्वारा किया गया, जबकि अतिथियों का स्वागत श्री नीलेश लोखंडे, उपसंचालक (अभिलेखागार) द्वारा किया गया।

यह आयोजन नई पीढ़ी को अपनी सांस्कृतिक धरोहर से जोड़ने और पुरातत्व के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण पहल रहा।
