A scroll tells a story of a sesquipedalian journey — a journey of paper, of colours, and of walls that quietly hold memories.

My practice has always been more than just making; it is a reflection of my life. This work traces my journey from India to China, where each stroke carries a piece of transition, learning, and cultural dialogue.

Creating a 60-meter scroll installation at the Nantong Museum, Jiangsu, China, was a deeply emotional and defining moment for me. Standing before a wall transformed by my own hands, I felt the distance between places dissolve into a single narrative of art and experience.

This work is not just about scale, but about the journey within it — unfolding, layer by layer.

As a multidisciplinary artist, presenting my performance work at the Venkatappa Art Gallery marked a significant moment in my evolving practice.

The platform brought together several prominent and emerging contemporary artists, fostering an environment of critical exchange and experimental expression. Being part of this collective presence allowed me to situate my work within a larger artistic dialogue while engaging with diverse perspectives and practices.

Through my performance, I explored the relationship between body, space, and emotion—creating an immersive experience that invited direct audience engagement. This experience not only expanded my creative boundaries but also reinforced my commitment to developing a more nuanced and concept-driven artistic language.

It was more than a presentation; it was a meaningful step in shaping my identity within the contemporary art landscape.

Wood has its own world. It breathes, it stands strong, and in many ways it lives and ages just like humans.

Recently, I had the opportunity to attend India’s Wood Expo in Bangalore along with the students of the School of Design as part of an industrial visit. It was a valuable learning experience where students explored various techniques related to wood, furniture design, materials, and craftsmanship.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the visit was witnessing the presence of both national and international companies showcasing innovations in wood technology, furniture manufacturing, and design solutions.

Such visits create a meaningful bridge between academic learning and industry exposure. It was truly a great exploration for the students to understand how creativity, material knowledge, and technology come together in the real world.
