For International Museum Day 2026, we are sharing a student-led exploration of the history of DDT by Tamanna Joji, a final-year medical student at the S. L. Bhatia History of Medicine Museum.

Using a single chemical as a starting point, the project reflected on changing ideas of public health, scientific progress, environmental harm, and ethical responsibility. Rather than offering simple answers, it explored how medical knowledge evolves and how its consequences are often complex and uneven.

Projects like these remind us that museums are not only spaces of preservation, but spaces for dialogue, questioning, and critical engagement.
