Layers of Silence
Layers of Silence is a body of work consisting of four square paintings, each measuring 30 × 30 inches. The colour palette is drawn from the primary colours—red, yellow, and blue—with green as a composite, forming the underlying chromatic structure of the works.
White becomes the dominant visual element. Through layered applications, the surfaces create depth while subtly revealing traces of the colours beneath. Often perceived as absence or silence, white here functions as a space of presence, accumulation, and quiet tension.
The compositions engage with primary shapes and restrained colour, where subtle textures and applications allow lines to emerge and spaces to divide. These works remain intentionally open-ended, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and discover their own associations and metaphors within these layered surfaces.
