10 months & a little bit of everything in between ✨

Time got managed (mostly), conversations got easier & somewhere along the way, teamwork turned into real friendships.

There were lessons, of course: about showing up, working together & growing into roles that felt unfamiliar at first.

But also the smaller, unexpected things, like inside jokes, shared routines & favourites that no one can quite explain.

While we’re not entirely sure if the piano made it out or if Lakshmi is still here, what we do know is this, this cohort leaves behind a piece of themselves in the museum & takes a little bit of it along too.

Here’s to everything that was built & everything that continues from here 💛

We’re growing our team at the Indian Music Experience Museum! We’re looking for passionate professionals to join us as Assistant Curator, Curator and Education Manager.

Assistant Curator: Support IME’s growing curatorial and exhibition programmes, with opportunities to build a career in museums, music historiography, exhibition planning and public programming.

Curator: Drive exhibition concepts, maintain permanent galleries, engage with artists and scholars, and contribute to IME’s growth within a vibrant cultural ecosystem.

Education Manager: Lead, develop and expand our educational and public interpretation initiatives, while overseeing museum interpretation, school tour programmes, public engagement and the operations of IME’s Music School.

Every story has its own rhythm. Ours begins with seven notes.

As IME marks seven years, members of our team reflect on seven facets of the museum through the notes of the Indian musical scale: Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, Ni. From the idea that sparked IME to the community it has built, the performances it has hosted, the heritage it celebrates, and the future it continues to imagine, each note reveals a different part of our journey.

This is our story, told by the people who have helped shape it.

Community Fri-Yay! is back.

On the first Friday of every month, IME opens its doors for an evening of free museum access, inviting you to spend time with music, explore the galleries at your own pace, and experience the museum as a shared cultural space.

IME volunteers will be hosting a Piano Jam in the lobby, filling the museum with familiar tunes and spontaneous collaborations throughout the evening.

Whether you’re performing, joining the jam, or simply soaking it all in, we’d love to have you with us.
