Folks in this weekend, please drop by and meet the participant artists of our ! The artists will be available to take visitors through their , and will be displaying the works they have been developing through this residency.

The Karnataka Artists' Residency is a 45-day art residency in Bolpur, Santiniketan. Participant artists have been exploring the land steeped in art and culture, meeting the people and delving into their individual practices incorporating their learnings, takeaways and observations. Artist Ramesh Kalkur visited them for a few days halfway through their residency, to facilitate more conversation and develop interesting ideas to work with.

In the age of flex and digital printing, vestiges of hand painted practices remain. The Serendip Art signboard was painted by Artist Babu T.A. of Vismaya Arts in Basavanagudi!

It took constant interaction over a week to get things right - the shade of yellow for the b/g to the size & fonts of the lettering ,especially the Kannada one!

The result was totally satisfying for both parties...and thereby hangs a tale!

This was a conscious endeavor to support the fast-diminishing practice of hand-painted signage.
