אנחנו לא מאמינות שעברה לה עוד שנה, וזה אומר רק דבר אחד - נונפיניטו כאן ~

ביום חמישי, 10.9, נפתח את תערוכת סיום הרזידנסי השנתית של ארטפורט, שמביאה אל הגלריה את העבודות והתהליכים של ששת האמנים והאמניות שעבדו בשנה האחרונה בסטודיואים שמעליה.

נונפיניטו נושאת איתה מראשית הדרך את ההכרה שמעשה האמנות אינו מסתכם באובייקט הסופי המוצב בגלריה. הבלתי גמור הוא גם התהליך, החיפוש, שינויי הכיוון, השיחות, הספקות, התאונות והתגליות שמרכיבים שנה של עשייה אמנותית.
במקום מוצר מוגמר או נרטיב חתום, נונפיניטו מציבה את מעשה האמנות כפעולה מתמשכת - כזו שחושפת ופורמת את התפרים של המציאות, ובדרך מתחילה לדמיין מציאות חדשה.

We can’t believe a whole year has passed, which can only mean one thing - NonFinito is HERE ~

On Thursday, September 10th, we open Artport’s annual residency exhibition, bringing together the work of the six artists who have spent the past year working side by side in the studios above the gallery.

NonFinito begins from a simple idea: art is never only the finished object we eventually meet in the gallery. It is also everything that happens before, around, and in between - the searching, testing, changes of direction, conversations, doubts, accidents, and discoveries that make up a year of artistic work.

Rather than offering a final answer, NonFinito stays with the work while it is still moving - pulling at the seams of reality and imagining what might take its place.

בשבת האחרונה ננעלה תערוכת היחיד של תומר דקל, עם שיח גלריה בהשתתפות תומר, חנה אנושיק מנהיימר ונעמה ערד.

תודה לכל מי שהגיעו לשיחה, ולמאות המבקרים שביקרו בתערוכה במהלך השבועות האחרונים.

This past Saturday, Tomer Dekel’s solo exhibition came to a close with a gallery talk by Tomer, Hana Anushik Manheimer, and Naama Arad.

Thank you to everyone who joined the talk, and to the hundreds of visitors who came to see the exhibition over the past few weeks.

And now, on to the next ~
On Thursday, September 10, at 8 pm, we will open NonFinito, the annual exhibition of Artport’s residency artists.

ספר אחד, ערב אחד, והרבה יותר ממדיום אחד ~
ביום שלישי האחרון השקנו את "חלום משותף", ספר האמנית החדש של רותי דה פריס, בערב שנע בין הופעת הסופרן של טל גנור, הקראות שירה של לריסה מילר ושרון קנטור, ושיחה משותפת בין המשתתפות.

כמו בעבודות של רותי, גם כאן שום דבר לא נשאר בדיוק בתחום שלו - מילה הפכה לקול, קול פגש דימוי, וספר שנולד במהלך הרזידנסי בבתניאן בברלין חזר לתל אביב וקיבל עוד חיים.
תודה לרותי דה פריס, לטל גנור, ללריסה מילר, לנגה נקש, לשרון קנטור ולאבי בוחבוט, שעיצב את הספר יחד עם רותי.

ועם הערב הזה גם סלון קיץ הגיע לסיומו - אחרי חודשיים של הקרנות, סדנאות, הופעות, שירה, שיחות וספרים. תודה גדולה למאות המבקרים והמבקרות שהגיעו להיות איתנו לאורך הקיץ!

One book, one evening, and much more than one medium ~

Last Tuesday, we launched Shared Dream, Ruti de Vries’ new artist book, with an evening that moved between a soprano performance by Tal Ganor, poetry readings by Larisa Miller and Sharon Kantor, and a conversation between the participants.

As in Ruti’s work, nothing here stayed neatly within its own medium - words became voice, voice met image, and a book created during her residency at Bethanien in Berlin returned to Tel Aviv and took on another life.

Thank you to Ruti de Vries, Tal Ganor, Larissa Miller, Noga Nakash, Sharon Kantor, and Avi Bohbot, who designed the book together with Ruti.

And with this evening, our Summer Sessions also came to an end - after two months of screenings, workshops, performances, poetry, conversations, and books. A huge thank you to the hundreds of visitors who joined us throughout the summer!

תודה לכל מי שהגיעו לרשום איתנו בשישי האחרון, ליאיר פרץ שהוביל את הבוקר בעיפרון מחודד, ולמודליסטית שלנו, אביגיל פריי.

במשך ארבע שעות התמלאו הדפים בקווים, כתמים, מחיקות, פרופורציות שהתפרקו ונבנו מחדש, ובעשרות גרסאות שונות של אותו גוף.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for life drawing last Friday, to Yair Peretz, who led the morning with a sharpened pencil, and to our model, Abigail Fri.

Over four hours, the pages filled with lines, and the space between them, proportions falling apart and coming back together, and dozens of different versions of the same body.

עוד רגע אוגוסט מתקפל, סלון קיץ יורד מהבמה, ולנו נשאר חלום אחרון לפני שנפרדים ~

"חלום משותף" הוא ספר האמנית החדש של רותי דה פריס, בוגרת תוכנית הרזידנסי של ארטפורט, שנוצר והודפס בברלין במהלך שהות האמנית שלה בקונסטהאלר בתניאן, יחד עם המעצב אבי בוחבוט.

כמו העבודות של רותי, גם הערב הזה לא מתכוון להישאר בתוך מדיום אחד. יהיו בו דימויים ומילים, מוזיקה ושירה, קולות ושיחה, ומפגשים בין כל אלה.
זמרת הסופרן טל גנור תופיע, לריסה מילר ושרון קנטור יקראו שירה, ואחר כך נשב יחד לשיחה בין המשתתפות.

August is almost folding up, Summer Salon is taking its final bow, and we have one last dream before we say goodbye ~

“Shared Dream” is the new artist book by Ruti De Vries, an alumna of Artport Residency Program, created and printed in Berlin during her residency at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, together with designer Avi Bohbot.

Like Ruti’s work, this evening has no intention of staying within a single medium. There will be images and words, music and poetry, voices and conversation, and encounters between all of them.

Soprano Tal Ganor will perform, Larisa Miller and Sharon Kantor will read poetry, followed by a conversation between the participants.

עשרה ימים אחרונים ל״ישראל היום״ ~

״האירוע הציורי מתחיל בהתאהבות באיזשהו דימוי שלעיתים יכול להיראות לי כמעט אקראי. ספינה מופצצת, ירח. יש איזו תחושה של רצון ותשוקה לצאת לאיזשהו מסע עם הדימוי הזה.

ואז מגיע המפגש עם העיתון, שהוא בעצם המפגש עם המציאות היומיומית, עם הקרקע שלה ועם הטקסט שלה. טקסט שרץ ומתחלף, עם כותרות שמהדהדות וצועקות. תוך כדי היצירה יש שיחה בין העיתון לבין הדימוי, ויש רגעים של חשיפה ושל כיסוי״, מספר תומר דקל.

Ten days left to see “Israel Hayom” ~

“The act of painting begins with falling in love with an image that can sometimes seem almost random to me. A bombed ship, the moon. There is a sense of desire and longing to set out on some kind of journey with that image.

Then comes the encounter with the newspaper, which is really an encounter with everyday reality, with its terrain and its text. A text that keeps moving and changing, with headlines that echo and shout. Throughout the creative process, a conversation unfolds between the newspaper and the image, with moments of revealing and concealing,” says Tomer Dekel.

אוגוסט כמעט נגמר, ואיתו גם סלון קיץ שלנו מתחיל להתקפל ~

נשארו עוד שני אירועים, ולפני שאנחנו נפרדות, נפגשות ביום שישי לבוקר של ציור מודל עם בוגר תוכנית הרזידנסי שלנו, יאיר פרץ.

ארבע שעות של התבוננות בגוף חי, עיפרון, פחם, צבע, נייר, ומה שקורה ביניהם. הזדמנות לשבת רגע, להסתכל קצת יותר זמן מהרגיל, ולתת ליד למצוא את הדרך שלה.

There are just two events left, and before we say goodbye, we’re meeting this Friday for a morning of life drawing with our alumn Yair Peretz.

Four hours of looking at a live model, with pencil, charcoal, paint, paper, and whatever happens in between. A chance to sit still for a while, look a little longer than usual, and let the hand find its own way.

השירה ירדה מהדף, עלתה על הבמה, החליפה בגדים, מדיומים וקולות, ובשלב מסוים כבר היה קצת קשה לדעת איפה היא נגמרת וכל השאר מתחיל ~

תודה לכל מי שהגיע אתמול ל"שירה חורגת מדיום" והפך את סלון הקיץ שלנו לערב אחד מאוד לא ממושמע של טקסט, פרפורמנס, דימויים, גופים, פלרטוטים, צחוק והרבה מאוד דרכים שונות לעשות שירה.

תודה ענקית להילה לולו לין, חולקט ~ אורי קרין, מורן שוב, נגבה מאור, נור שני טחן, נינה רביד ונטע לב טוב, על ערב שהזכיר לנו שמילים ממש לא חייבות להישאר איפה ששמו אותן.

ותודה מיוחדת לנטע לב טוב ונור שני טחן על הניהול האמנותי ועל שהביאו את כל הדבר החורג הזה אל הסלון שלנו 💘

Poetry stepped off the page, took the stage, changed clothes, mediums, and voices, and at some point it became a little hard to tell where poetry ended and everything else began ~

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Thursday for “Poetry Beyond Medium” and turned our Summer Salon into one wonderfully unruly evening of text, performance, images, bodies, flirtation, laughter, and so many different ways of making poetry.

A huge thank you to Hila Lulu Lin, Holeket ~ Uri Karin, Moran Shoub, Negba Maor, Nur Shani Tahan, Nina Ravid, and Netta Lev Tov for an evening that reminded us that words really do not have to stay where they were put.

And a special thank you to Netta Lev Tov and Nur Shani Tahan for the artistic direction, and for bringing this wonderfully boundary-breaking event into our salon 💘

הם משוחחים על המתח שמתקיים בעבודות בין חומר גולמי לפעולה מחושבת, בין כאוס לאיזון, ובין עולם שממשיך להתנהל כרגיל למציאות שכבר קשה להבין לאן היא הולכת.

בשיחה הם חוזרים אל פלטות העץ שנאספו מהרחוב, אל הדימויים שמגיעים מדפי העיתון ואל הרגע שבו ציור ופסל מתחברים ליצור חדש, מצחיק, מאיים וקצת בלתי אפשרי להגדרה.

They talk about the tension within the works between raw material and deliberate action, between chaos and balance, and between a world that continues to carry on as usual and a reality whose direction has become increasingly difficult to understand.

Their conversation returns to the wooden pallets collected from the street, the images drawn from newspaper pages, and the moment when painting and sculpture come together to form a new creature: funny, threatening, and somewhat impossible to define.
