שתי גישות לשימור ולבנייה חדשה — מה אתם מעדיפים?
בפינת הרחובות יהודה הלוי ומזא”ה בתל אביב ניצבים זה מול זה שני בנייני באוהאוס שעברו לאחרונה שימור ושיפוץ.
בשני המקרים נוספו לבניינים ההיסטוריים, שלוש קומות חדשות — פתרון שמאפשר גם לממן את תהליך השימור.
אבל כאן מתחיל ההבדל האסתטי:
הבניין משמאל מציג תוספת חדשה ובולטת, עם עיצוב בגוון חום שמבדיל אותה באופן ברור מהמבנה הלבן המקורי.
הבניין מימין קיבל אף הוא שלוש קומות חדשות, אך התוספת הרבה יותר ניטרלית — הן בצבע והן בעיצוב — ומשתלבת בעדינות רבה יותר עם הבניין ההיסטורי.

Two approaches to preservation and new construction — which do you prefer?
At the corner of Yehuda Halevi and Mazeh Streets in Tel Aviv, two Bauhaus buildings face each other, both recently renovated and preserved.
In both cases, three new floors were added to the existing listed buildings — a solution that also helps finance the costly preservation process.
But aesthetically, the two approaches are quite different.
The building on the left has a clearly visible contemporary addition, with a distinctive brown design that deliberately contrasts with the original white Bauhaus building.
The building on the right also received three additional floors, but the new construction is much more neutral — both in color and design — creating a quieter relationship with the historic building.
👀 Which approach do you prefer — a clearly contemporary addition that expresses its own time, or a more neutral addition that blends more gently with the original architecture?
