The studio was established by Alon and Batya Gil - Bezalel Art Academy graduates and is situated in the ecological village of Clil, in the Western Galilee between mountain and sea. This environment is an integral part of the creative process and finds expression in the artist's work. On exhibit are various functional and artistic objects – decorative plates and bowls, tables, wall tiles, sinks, w
ater fountains large urns, jewelry; wall pieces and sculptures. The studio manufactures commissioned works and holds workshops that vary according to the age and interest of the participants. Alon creates ceramic works that are fired at a high temperature in a large gas kiln. He works in numerous different techniques and designs and creates architectural projects that combine stone and ceramic pieces. His art work has been exhibited in many exhibitions across the country. Batya is a glass artist that works in fusing and casting techniques. In her work she explores the properties of materials – combining glass, metals and minerals with earths collected throughout Israel. The alchemy that happens in the gas kiln between the various materials creates fascinating effects. Her work has been exhibited in Israel and around the world. Jara studio continues and renews a tradition of workshops that have existed in the Western Galilee since ancient times.
סטודיו ג'רה – סטודיו לחרס וזכוכית, הוקם לפני כ 20 שנה ע"י אלון ובתיה גיל. לאחר סיום לימודיהם באקדמיה לאמנות "בצלאל" הקימו סטודיו, בית, משפחה ומשק בכפר האקולוגי כליל שבגליל המערבי. בסטודיו – בו הם מעצבים ויוצרים, נבנו תנורי גז מיוחדים לשריפת העבודות. הסטודיו, הבית והבוסתן משתלבים בנוף ובמרקם החיים בכפר ומתמזגים יחד למכלול ייחודי, בכך הם ממשיכים מסורת עתיקה של בתי מלאכה שהיו קיימים באזור עוד מזמנים קדומים.
אלון- אמן קרמיקה ובניין- יוצר בחרס ובאבן, הוא מתכנן ומבצע כלים שימושים ואמנותיים, מזרקות. פינות ישיבה. פיסול ועוד-השריפות נעשות בתנור גז גדול והשריפה הגבוהה מעניקה לעבודות איכות ועמידות. הזיגוגים מורכבים מנוסחאות ייחודיות היוצרות שלל צבעים מרהיבים. כמו כן יסר קו עיצוב ויצור של אריחי חרס משתלבים – "אוקה"

בתיה – בוגרת המגמה לצורפות בבצלאל. במהלך השנים נחשפה לזכוכית והתאהבה בחומר הזה. במשך מספר שנים עבדה כאחראית עיצוב במפעל זכוכית לאחר סגירת המפעל, בנתה תנור זכוכית בסטודיו. היא יוצרת בשיטות שריפה שונות כלים שימושיים, תכשיטים ועבודות פיסוליות בשילוב נחושת, זהב, אדמות ומינרלים. השריפה בתנור גז יוצרת צבעוניות וחומריות ייחודית. עבודותיה הוצגו בתערוכות בארץ ובעולם.
