Our last free evening of Late Mix events concludes this Thursday with a very special evening of music, art, chats and more with Cúan Cusack 🏳️🌈🇵🇸🏳️⚧️ & .phantom.listener .
Please come along, show your support, and let us know if we should continue with evening events - or maybe just go home and have dinner as normal.
For this event, artists Cúan Cusack has developed a new, interactive work, ‘Black Box’.
“A black box is a system whose internal workings are hidden from the observer. Only inputs and outpurts remain. An interactive playspace where we interface with tecnology its inputs and outputs. To rediscover digital play and intervention.”
Cúan Cusack creates Interactive live visuals that explore our connection with the world as mediated through technology, using photography, animation and live footage. Cúan will collaborate with gallery visitors to create a reactive environments that warp and change throughout the evening. This is a casual pop in activity that welcomes multiple modes of engagement, through sound body and pen.
phantom.listener will showcase a newly composed work which draws its influence from Waterford’s urban landscape, in particular the ever evolving creative work of Waterford Walls Official :
“The aim of this project is to promote the engagement between the general community and contemporary music through pairing original contemporary musical compositions with popular street art murals. The compositional techniques are based on cross-modal abstractions to facilitate creating music that complements the visual component with the intention that this in turn will enhance the listening experience.”
These lates are made possible through the support of the Department of Culture, Communication and Sport and the Night-Time Economy After Hours at the Museum scheme.
