This is a Historical, Heritage and extremely scenic area from which to draw inspiration. We are based in the historic heritage village of Slane, in the heart of the Boyne Valley in the royal county of Meath. We operate a one person studio where art is practiced and artistic efforts are displayed. The artist, Pat Doyle, whilst pursuing an alternative and varied career, studied art over many years a
t Dublin NCAD and DLIADT as well as many national and international workshops. The most important art training contribution was 2 years spent wholetime at the ART STUDENTS LEAGUE OF NEW YORK. There he was fortunate to be taught by some of the great painters of our age. It also provided an overwhelming appreciation of the skills and output of the old traditional artists who are his ongoing influence. Artistic output includes local, Irish and International landscapes and seascapes in addition to a range of figure paintings and drawings. These reflect the many destinations and influences experienced all over the Globe. Oils on canvas is the principal medium employed which is used to prepare a variety of themes. As well as hog brushes, painting knives are used in many cases to achieve a varied texture. Commissions – Pat is very happy to do commissions and gifts for special occasions, e.g. Wedding Venues or Meaningful Sights
Travelogue – Information and photos are included for many of the locations – we welcome requests for travel info.
