Ryan O'Meara TD and Cllr JP O'Meara came to visit fellow Toomevara person Nora O'Meara today to wish her the very best of luck in her retirement after almost 40 years as Genealogist in the North Tipperary Genealogy Centre . They talked all things family connections and tracing your roots before presenting Nora with a lovely gift .

Our last on site event of Heritage week last week but certainly not least was the Tour of the Gatehouse followed by a talk and demo from local Farrier Murty O Meara . The groups were brought through the Gatehouse by Ger who shared stories about the some of 17 men that were executed here between 1842 and 1858 . Then Murty very interestingly spoke about the changes of or in many ways lack of change between the tools and work of a farrier now verses the past . Thank you to both Ger and Murty for a very interesting and enjoyable morning πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
