It's always great to welcome relations of the Mc Dermott family to the birthplace of Seàñ Mac Diarmada. Pictured here are Susan, James and John Mc Dermot from Manorhamilton who recently paid us a visit. This Mc Dermot family orginally came from just over the road from the cottage and James and John clearly remember visiting when Sean's nephew John James was still living here. In fact it was John James who told them they were related to him. What a marvelous legacy to be connected to Kiltys most famous son. The man now referred to as "The Mind of the revolution". James, John and Susan, thank you for your vist. It was lovely to have you on tour.

It's always great to welcome home the Kiltyclogher diaspora, so we were delighted to receve a visit today from the Barden family from London. Fatima, Theo and Edward. Edward's' late Mum Rose Frances Mc Gillen was born and reared in the village, leaving Ireland for the UK at a very young age in the late 1950's.

As Rose Frances passed away recently this was a very poinant journey for Edward and his family, bringing back memories for Edward of his last vist here with his mum in 2018. Her last trip home to Kiltyclogher.

En route to Kilty the family enjoyed a lovely vist with Rose Frances's brother PJ who lives in the east of the country.

Edward, our condolences on the passing of your mother. Thank you for your including us in the itenary of this very special visit. to Kiltyclogher. It was great to meet yourself Fatima and Theo.

Yuko Yamaguchi (Kyoto Japan) arrived in Kiltyclogher last Saturday and is staying in our Holiday Centre for the week. She is here to visit the town and study 1916 Hero Seán Mac Diarmada, his family and his legacy.
She had a pleasant surprise on Monday when she arrived during our once a month Coffee Morning(Well done folks) as locals gifted their knowledge she had another surprise as we invited Shizuka Tajima(fellow country woman) who lives on the Corranmore road to join us on our visit to Seáns family home.
They really enjoyed the cottage and it was pleasant to hear Japanese being spoken with cries of wonderment and great joy as the cottage tour revealed its charm.
She has also seen his school in Corracloona too, Prince Connells Tomb, Loch MacNean shore walk and travelled to the heights of Thur Mountain(What a view that is).
If you see her .Wish her well as she has made a great effort to immerse herself in Seáns Life. She says that nobody in Japan would know of him and its important that somebody goes back there with his Life Story and tell the Japanese people what an important man in Irish History he really was.

Night Visiting below a canopy of Stars.
St. Mogues Bawn Boy TY students County Cavan were joined by Spanish students for a night time vigil to Seán Mac Diarmada's Cottage. We must say its a credit to their teachers Martha and Janet for booking the tour and staying in our Holiday Centre.
It was something totally different . Indeed it was amazing to hear the questions about the house and how knowledgeable the students were on 1916 hero Seán Mac Diarmada as well as their fantastic walk on the Stairway to Heaven(Over twenty kilometers long plus other walks prior to this 10k there and back walk to our beloved and treasured historic cottage.
It was a very exciting adventure for us and for the TY students on their Gaisce journey. We might just take them up on that invite to Seville.
