From Oregon to Co. Wexford. How Portland’s Hipster Culture influenced one of Ireland’s most successful independant art gallery’s.

Welcome to The Gaslamp Gallery – a small independent Art Gallery located in the South East of Ireland. We are a small team of just four, myself (Claire), Anne-Marie, Louisa and Shauna. We love what we do and strive to ensure that our gallery is an informal one where you can relax, enjoy the art, and are guaranteed a warm welcome. First a little history. For me this adventure into the world of running a gallery, began some years back, while living in Oregon in the United States. Just 90 minutes from Portland is the most charming beach village called Cannon Beach. Known as one of the top art towns in America, this walkable community is dotted with art galleries. These galleries are lovely places, staffed by friendly people who are not pushy and most importantly stock a range of attractive and affordable art. It does not matter whether you buy a little print for $15.00 or an original for much much more, you are treated as a valued customer and that is what we aspire to here in The Gaslamp Gallery. We are now into our 9th year in business and I am blessed with a wonderful albeit small team. In addition to the gallery itself, we also offer a picture framing service. Anne- Marie is our framer and is assisted by Louisa and Shauna. They make the best team. In addition, we have established great relationships with our artists, many of whom choose to display their works exclusively with us. Our selections are informed by our own taste, so we recognize that our success is based on the coming together of like minds. Come visit sometime – we think you will enjoy it.
