Meet JODI TATTOOS, one of our resident tattoo artists at West End Art Collective in Galway.
Jodi works across fine line, dotwork and stippling, organic flowing forms, ornamental structure and blackwork elements, with particular attention to negative space and how a tattoo follows the body.

What happens when a Celtic art imagination runs wild?
Tony travelled from the USA with a brilliant idea.
He already had a Book of Kells-inspired artist tattooed on his chest, holding a paintbrush pointing towards his shoulder.
He wanted to imagine what that artist might paint — an explosion of Celtic spirals flowing across his shoulder and arm.
Given complete creative freedom, Jarlath developed this original composition of sweeping spirals, Celtic knotwork and a stylised hare.
First session, work in progress, with more to come.

A brilliant concept from Tony, who travelled over from the USA for this custom Celtic tattoo.
He already had a Book of Kells-inspired artist tattooed on his chest, with a paintbrush pointing towards his shoulder.
His idea? Imagine the artist painting an explosion of Celtic spirals across his arm.
Jarlath brought that idea to life through an original design combining flowing spirals, Celtic knotwork and a stylised hare.

A jaguar framed with botanical elements, using the flowers to carry the composition around the piece while keeping the face as the clear focal point.

We share plenty of tattoos when they’re freshly finished, but seeing work properly healed matters. It’s where the linework, contrast and overall structure of a tattoo really show how they’ve settled into the skin.

Tonight at West End Art Collective, new work by Jarlath Tourish and Elena Dova explores the reawakening of the Irish language — its relationship with identity, culture and a changing Ireland.

The exhibition is open now until 10:30pm tonight as part of Culture Night.

ATHMHÚSCAILT — Reawakening

This Friday, West End Art Collective presents ATHMHÚSCAILT, a free visual art exhibition exploring the reawakening of the Irish language.

Through new work by Jarlath Tourish and Elena Dova, the exhibition considers language not simply as something inherited, but as something living — connected to identity, culture and the Ireland we are becoming.

Free admission as part of National Culture Night 2026.

This is what Culture Night looks like before the exhibition reaches the walls.

Jarlath Tourish and Edo Tattoo have been painting inside West End Art Collective as they prepare original work for ATHMHÚSCAILT, our Culture Night exhibition on 18 September.

One of the things we love about WEAC is that the creative work doesn’t stop with tattooing. The same studio becomes a place for drawing, painting, exhibitions, music and collaboration — and over the next few days ATHMHÚSCAILT will gradually take shape around us.

These photographs are a glimpse of that process while the work is still being created.
