As well as beautiful oils, acrylic and other mediums, we have a selection of more delicate drawings, watercolours and mixed media work in the Gallery.

Adrienne Dooling‘s drawings, studies of curlew, wagtails, and sanderlings, highlight the variety of birds that grace our Kerry coast. Her delicate watercolours, as light as the feathers she paints.

Eoin Flaherty, whose creative works include pen and ink drawings that “express the emotions I feel and to tell the story of who I am…something of my vision, and something of where I come from…” Detailed sketches and drawings from the heart of West Kerry.

Margo Banks big and boisterous drawings tells the many stories of her mother; her childhood, her land and its rich folklore tales. Her drawings are the remembrance and the expression of both these stories and of the changes seen in the landscape of the Iveragh Peninsula in South West Kerry – her mother’s place.

A recent article about artist Gerard Byrne in Image magazine, shares a snapshot into his career over the past 40 years, plein-air painting, and the cultural touchstones he returns to time and again.

“…Painting with remarkable speed, confidence and physicality, Byrne’s canvas is alive. Spontaneous yet structurally exacting. The influence of Impressionism is evident, but his work is never nostalgic. It is visceral, unique and unmistakably Irish…”

Gerard has always had a grá for Kerry and finds inspiration in the outstandingly beautiful Di**le Peninsula & West Kerry Gaeltacht.

We have a number of his works, his paintings depicting the rugged coastline of Corca Dhuibhne, on display here in the gallery.

New paintings arriving today from the studio of Gallery artist Aine Ni Chiobhain !!!!

She depicts the view from the Peninsula, looking across the tidal landscape towards An Fear Marbh or Sleeping Giant , from Clogher Beach and The Three Sisters, from Cúl Dorcha, Smerwick.

Aine has been working with layered paint and excavating into surface to create rich detail and moving between observation and abstraction.

The paintings are being framed in her studio today, before heading to us here in Greenlane Gallery, Di**le.
