New ART Gallery SLIGO

New ART Gallery SLIGO Contemporary Art Gallery & Workshop Space. Find breathtaking locally handmade Art, Craft & Design.

New Art Gallery is an artist-led, collectively run space rooted in creativity, collaboration and community spirit. Originally envisioned by Elizabeth Valentine - an artist, children’s author and poet living in a remote part of Sligo along the stunning Wild Atlantic Coast. With a passion for both art and connection, Elizabeth initiated the project in 2018 as a pop-up exhibition to raise funds for S

ligo Cancer Support. Since then, the vision has evolved and grown with the active involvement and support of fellow artists. During the Boyle Arts Festival in 2022, Elizabeth secured a permanent space in Boyle, and in 2024, the gallery moved into its current home in the beautifully restored historic building, An Ríoga. Today, New Art Gallery thrives as a vibrant, shared platform for artists - a space to showcase and sell work, run creative workshops, and build meaningful connections. It offers regular art classes, artist meet-ups and children’s workshops, serving as both a cultural hub and a gathering place for the local community and beyond. From 2019 to 2021, The New ART Gallery hosted the Sligo Art and Craft Fair at the historic Gillooley Hall in Sligo.
