TITANIC BOOK LAUNCH

The third edition of the hugely successful Addergoole Titanic Story will be launched by Former-Taoiseach Enda Kenny on Monday, July 3 at 6.30pm in Castle Books, Main Street, Castlebar.

Special guest on the evening is Rory Golden whom we had to book as far back as early April to attend our launch, due to his schedule. He has a keen interest in the Addergoole Fourteen. Rory is a diver/explorer, the first Irish diver to visit the site of the RMS Titanic. Rory played key roles in the Titanic expeditions in 2000 and 2005 and has also visited the site in more recent years. He discovered the ship’s wheel and was the first person to touch it since 1912. Rory also took on the additional task of logging recovered artefacts. He is an active explorer, diver and researcher, dedicated to the preservation of Titanic history. He is highly regarded in the dive and Titanic communities. He will be speaking about his experiences of diving to the Titanic at the launch.

The book, written by Pauline Barrett, has sold out in its first two editions and the Addergoole Titanic Society have published a third edition to cater for the continuous demand.
The book tells the stories of the 14 passengers from Addergoole and explores their lives, the events that shaped them and the tragedy that befell eleven of them in 1912 when the Titanic sank.

All are welcome to the launch.
