On Tuesday 18 August, climb aboard the Heritage Bus Tour and explore the Treasures of East Galway which also features the launch of the Tobar an Croise Naomha Short Film.
Discover the Stories, Landscapes and Heritage of East Galway
Join us for a fascinating full-day journey through East Galway's rich cultural heritage. Experience medieval history, traditional craftsmanship, sacred landscapes and community heritage projects while enjoying guided visits, refreshments and lunch at some of East Galway’s most significant heritage sites. The day also includes the launch of the new "Tobar an Croise Naomha, Cappagh" Holy Well short film, celebrating one of East Galway's treasured places of pilgrimage. Here's a great opportunity on Tuesday 18th August to discover the hidden treasures of for this years Heritage Week. This event is organised by Galway County Heritage Office and is supported by The Heritage Council.

Its the 20th anniversary of Walled Towns Day this Sunday 16th August. Join us from 1pm as we celebrate this free family day with Animal Magic Wildlife Displays, 1316 - Medieval Fight Club, Claíomh, Loughrea Craft-Club and many more exhibitors to enjoy. Test your archery skills in the grounds of Athenry Heritage Centre and there's free guided tours as well. Thanks to Galway County Heritage Office and the The Heritage Council for supporting this great community event.
