Did you know that nursehound cats sharks, sometimes called bullhuss have an amazing sixth sense. Using sspecial organs called ampullae of lorenzini they can detect small electrical currents from the muscle contractions of prey, allowing them to hunt in the dark 🦈🦈🦈.

Santa is coming back to the Achill Experience! 🎅
We're delighted to announce that Santa Claus himself will be joining us on Sunday December 6th here at the Achill Experience Aquarium and Visitor Centre! 🐠❄️

All in aid of St Colman’s Care Centre
Tickets are €10.00 per child which must be booked in advance.

There will also be a raffle on the day, and 25% of the door ticket sales and all raffle proceeds will be donated to St Colman's

Did you know that some sharks and rays dont need to keep swimming?

It is all thanks to something called a spiracle, a small respiratory opening behind the eys that allows water to pass through the gills even when standing still. Here our little blonde ray can be seen using it to hide underneath the sand 🦈🦈🦈.
