Take a glimpse into the installation view of π‘»π’“π’π’‘π’Šπ’„π’‚π’ π‘¨π’π’Šπ’†π’π’”, Eko Nugroho’s latest solo exhibition.

Bringing together 35 new works across a diverse range of media, including paintings, drawings, embroidered paintings, three-dimensional objects, and a site-specific mural, π‘»π’“π’π’‘π’Šπ’„π’‚π’ π‘¨π’π’Šπ’†π’π’” expands Eko Nugroho’s unmistakable visual language. Rich in vibrant colors and playful imagery, the exhibition continues his incisive exploration of contemporary socio-political realities, where humor, satire, and critique intertwine.

We invite you to experience the exhibition at Nadi Gallery and enter into a dialogue with the β€œaliens” that inhabit Eko’s imaginative world, figures that reflect, question, and reframe the complexities of our own.

The exhibition will run through August 2, 2026

We are pleased to announce our next exhibition in the gallery, a solo exhibition by Eko Nugroho

𝑻𝑹𝑢𝑷𝑰π‘ͺ𝑨𝑳 𝑨𝑳𝑰𝑬𝑡𝑺

Exhibition opening: 8 July 2026, 19:30 WIB
Venue: Nadi Gallery, Jl. Kembang Indah III Blok G3/4-5, West Jakarta, Indonesia

Eko Nugroho (b. 1977, Yogyakarta) is one of Indonesia's most internationally recognised contemporary artists. A graduate of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta, his practice spans different mediums such as painting, drawing, embroidery, mural, three-dimensional object and video. His work draws from street art, graffiti, and popular culture to engage with politics, corruption, social justice, and collective
identity.

Tropical Aliens is a direct response to the political and social realities, both locally and internationally, in these several years. Through characters Eko Nugroho calls 'tropical aliens', masked, costumed, and at once familiar and strange, the exhibition gives form to a condition that most people will recognise today:
alienation within one's own country, and the experience of watching policies designed to serve the public become instruments of self-interest.
