☕ A Taste of History, Brewed Fresh ✨

Long before they graced our cups, spices were the archipelago’s most contested treasures, hidden gems that put Indonesia at the center of a global obsession, when cardamom, nutmeg, and cinnamon were worth more than gold, and empires crossed oceans to claim them.

This summer, Common Grounds pays homage to the nation’s legacy with a special menu inspired by Riar Rizaldi: Period Piece exhibition, where history, memory, and the land collide. Sip on the Spiced Island Cold Brew, pair with the Spekkoek Butter Salt Bread.

Museum MACAN mengajak kalangan pendidik, seniman, hingga pembuat kebijakan untuk menggali cara kerja komunitas dan institusi edukasi menghidupkan kembali potongan-potongan budaya melalui Forum Pendidik ‘Merajut Kembali yang Hilang: Upaya Kolektif atas Budaya’.

Kita akan berdiskusi bersama Yap Meiliany (Lenny), IB PYP Curriculum Coordinator, Tunas Muda Kedoya; Rachel Groves, Principal, Tunas Muda Kedoya; Ni Ketut Putri Minangsari, Performer & Teacher of Balinese Legong Dance Tradition, Founder of Sari Nrtana Dance Collective.

Jawaban itu ditemukan dalam cerita dari tanah Leuser yang dibawa oleh keenam pembicara: Farwiza Farhan, Yoppy Pieter, Titah AW, Raisa Kamila, Fuadi S Klayu, dan Dini Aristya W.

The two-day discussion and film screening of Tales of Belonging, held on July 4-5, 2026, answered the question of how to make sense of the relationship between humans and nature.

That answer was found in stories from the land of Leuser, brought to life by six speakers: Farwiza Farhan, Yoppy Pieter, Titah AW, Raisa Kamila, Fuadi S Klayu, and Dini Aristya W.
