A painting gallery and museum established in 1992, Museum Barli exhibits mainly paintings of Barli Sasmitawinata (1921-2007) and his son Agung. After coming back from his art studies in the Netherlands and France in 1950s, Barli spent some of his time teaching in Bandung. He received a medal of art from the government of Indonesia in 2000. Together with his beloved wife, the late Atikah binti Basa
ri, the late artist Barli Sasmitawinata brought his lifetime dream into reality, presenting an Art Museum to society. Barli Musseum is dedicated to memorialization of Barli's artworks, for the purposes of public exploration for inspiration, education, and enjoyment. Museum Barli is also often used for fine art exhibitions, selling art works, discussion and artists gathering, training and workshop. One of their workshops is the fine art course for kids and adults. While the works of art of Barli are displayed on 2nd and 3rd floor. In line with educational purpose, Barli Museum provides Art Learning Center, and offers programs and activities for a range of audiences, including adults, children, families, as well as those for more specific communities.
