誠摯感謝各位觀眾與我們共同完成這場關於設計本質的巡禮。「迪特‧拉姆斯：少，但更好」已圓滿閉幕。這是拉姆斯 （Dieter Rams）首次於香港呈獻的經典回顧展，由香港知專設計學院與迪特和英格伯格‧拉姆斯基金會、北京當代藝術基金會攜手合作，將這位二十世紀最具影響力的工業設計大師的標誌性作品與永恆哲學帶到香港。

“Less, but better”

We sincerely thank all our visitors for joining us in this profound journey exploring the very essence of design. "Dieter Rams: Less, but better" has now come to a successful close. This landmark retrospective, presented for the first time in Hong Kong, was realized through a collaboration between HKDI, the Dieter and Ingeborg Rams Foundation, and the Beijing Contemporary Art Foundation. It brought the iconic works and timeless philosophy of one of the 20th century’s most influential industrial designers, Dieter Rams, to our city.

The exhibition faithfully reflects Dieter Rams’ consistent understanding of the industrial world of objects. His perspective has always been future-oriented, dedicated to creating products that are not only aesthetically compelling but also enduring in both function and appearance. From the classic products for Braun and Vitsœ to the guiding principle of “Less, but better,” every detail embodies a commitment to and reflection on what constitutes good design.

2025至2026年，HKDI Gallery與奧地利林茲頂尖電子藝術節Ars Electronica攜手呈獻的「多元未來 — Ars Electronica x HKDI 電子藝術展」已圓滿落幕。感謝每一位觀眾、藝術家、學生創作者與合作夥伴，與我們一同踏上這場充滿想像力與互動溫度的科技之旅。

回顧這場跨文化合作，HKDI Gallery首次將Prix Ars Electronica 2024與2025年得獎作品帶到香港，匯集來自不同國際藝術家匠心之作。聚焦「多元未來」的核心概念，不同世界觀、未來想像與現實層面的交織與共存。在不確定與科技迅變的時代，透過遊戲化互動、智能敘事與沉浸體驗，邀請大家主動參與，共同編織無限可能的未來。

Pluriversal Futures: The Interweaving and Coexistence of Art and Technology

In 2025–2026, HKDI Gallery, in collaboration with Linz’s leading electronic art festival Ars Electronica, proudly presented “Pluriversal Futures – Ars Electronica Exhibition in Collaboration with Hong Kong Design Institute” which has now successfully concluded. We extend our heartfelt thanks to every visitor, artist, student creator, and partner for joining us on this imaginative and warmly interactive technological journey.

Reflecting on this cross-cultural collaboration, HKDI Gallery brought Prix Ars Electronica 2024 and 2025 award-winning works to Hong Kong for the first time, featuring masterful creations by international artists. The exhibition centered on the core concept of “Pluriversal Futures” — the interweaving and coexistence of diverse worldviews, imagined futures, and layered realities. In an era of uncertainty and rapid technological change, the work invites active participation through gamified interactions, intelligent storytelling, and immersive experiences, empowering everyone to co-weave infinite possible futures.

Thank you to every one of you who stepped into the gallery. Together, we journeyed through this chapter of interwoven worldviews, futures, and realities.

腕錶中的「少，但更好」，拉姆斯把電子科技化為更清晰、更沉穩的形式。

DW 20（1977）是百靈首批電子腕錶的嘗試：以圓形石英機芯作底，中央配置 LCD（液晶），並採用較窄邊框的顯示設計。它呈現出一種「仍在探索，但已在靠近本質」的階段，讓你看得到功能，也看得懂裝置在做什麼。

到了 DW 30（1978），設計更成熟、更具說服力：LCD改用矩形模塊，嵌入凸起的矩形錶殼；錶殼再順勢銜接到黑色錶帶，延續百靈經典的黑與銀對比。上、下錶帶以凹槽分隔、並整合小型 Braun 標誌；而腕錶調節設計，僅以兩個細長半圓形旋鈕完成所需操作。元素不多，但更貼近拉姆斯的「美觀不靠誇張、清楚卻不喧嘩」的標誌設計。

In a wristwatch, “Less, but better” sees Rams transform digital technology into a clearer, calmer form.

DW 20 (1977) marked Braun’s first attempt at a digital wristwatch: a round quartz movement with a centrally placed LCD display and a relatively narrow bezel, it embodies an exploratory stage—“still searching yet already approaching the essence.” You can clearly see the function and understand exactly what the device is doing.

Braun DW 30 (1978) refines the idea. The display shifts to a rectangular module, set within a raised rectangular case that transitions seamlessly into a black wristband—continuing Braun’s signature black-and-silver contrast. With minimal, purpose-driven details (groove separation, a small Braun mark, and two elongated semi-circular adjustment k***s), the design stays quiet—but precise. This is Rams’ signature “less” working in real life: unobtrusive, durable, and focused on the essential.

迪特·拉姆斯 × 百靈TP 1 便攜式音樂播放器

索尼（Sony）Walkman 誕生二十年前，迪特·拉姆斯早於 1959 年為百靈（Braun）創造出 TP 1 —— 全球最早的便攜式音樂播放器。它把 T4 袖珍晶體管收音機與 P1 迷你唱機巧妙合一，設計上僅以矩形與圓形為核心形體，造型簡潔。產品細節是唱片從底部播放，唱針從隱藏槽升起，讓裝置整體更俐落低調。

Twenty years before the Sony Walkman was even born, Dieter Rams created TP 1 for Braun in 1959 — the world’s very first portable music player.

It brilliantly combines the T4 pocket transistor radio with the P1 mini turntable into one seamless unit. The design is built around pure rectangular and circular forms, resulting in an incredibly clean and minimalist look.

A standout detail: the record plays from underneath, with the needle rising smoothly from a hidden slot. This makes the entire device sleeker, more discreet, and far more portable.

迪特·拉姆斯 × Vitsœ 傢具傳奇

香港首個迪特·拉姆斯經典回顧展「迪特·拉姆斯：少，但更好」正於香港知專設計學院 Experience Centre 展出！展覽匯集拉姆斯為百靈（Braun）與 Vitsœ 設計的標誌性作品，深入呈現其廣為人知的「設計十誡」。

英國傢俱品牌Vitsœ 是拉姆斯設計理念最忠實的實踐者。從1959年起，他所設計的傢俱不是短暫潮流，而是可伴隨一生、可持續演進的一個系列，少零件、多變化；少更換、多陪伴。

展覽展示了拉姆斯與 Vitsœ 的一些經典傢俱：從 606 通用層架的組合化與近70年維持原創設計的長青耐用、到 620 系列扶手椅的低調美學與可延展性、輕巧堆疊的 621 邊几以及受日本禪意啟發的 740 堆疊傢俱系統。每件作品都在實踐「少，但更好」，簡約且回歸生活本質。

Dieter Rams × Vitsœ Furniture Legacy: “Less, but better”

Hong Kong’s first-ever Dieter Rams retrospective exhibition, “Dieter Rams: Less, but better”, is now open and thriving at the HKDI Experience Centre! The exhibition brings together iconic works Rams designed for Braun and Vitsœ, offering an in-depth exploration of his widely celebrated Ten Principles of Good Design.

The British furniture brand Vitsœ is the most faithful practitioner of Rams’s design philosophy. Since 1959, the furniture he designed has never been a passing trend but a lifetime, sustainably evolving system—fewer parts, but more configurations, less replacements, yet more companionship.

The exhibition presents several of Rams’s and Vitsœ’s classic pieces: from the modular 606 Universal Shelving System—whose original design has endured for nearly 70 years—to the understated, extendable 620 series armchairs, the lightweight, stackable 621 side table, and the 740 stacking furniture system inspired by Japanese Zen. Each piece embodies the principle “less, but better”—simple and true to everyday life.

Why is a juice squeezer over fifty years old still in production in 2026?
Dieter Rams answered the 20th‑century problem of “an impenetrable confusion of forms, colors, and noises” by returning design to its essentials. The Braun MPZ 2 citromatic is a perfect example: Rams did not overhaul the product; he made a single, thoughtful tweak—a redesigned lid—that gave the design new life. That small, restrained change preserved the product’s practical beauty and kept it in production even as technology advanced.
