In the second chapter of our Curating Your Space series, team member Michael shares his vision.

🐎 Where Hooves Resound

The living room, as the heart of the home, calls for a work that anchors both space and atmosphere. I would place Lam King-Ting’s wood engraving Golden Hooves Resound on the wall above the television. Positioned near the window, the artwork catches the sunlight as it streams in, enriching the layers of the sepia-gold frame and infusing the interior with warmth.

Beyond marking the 2026 Year of the Horse, wood engraving is a precision craft defined by its irreversibility. This mirrors the horses depicted in the art piece, symbolizing an unwavering determination to move forward, a momentum poised for action.

在我們「策展你的空間」系列的第二章中，團隊成員 Michael 分享了他的設想。

🐎 馬鳴之所

客廳作為家的中心，我選擇將林敬庭的木口木刻作品《金馬啼鳴》放置於電視機上方的牆面。作品特意靠近窗邊，每當太陽光線射進屋內，更特顯畫中的啡金色框的層次，為室內注入溫暖。

除了適逢 2026 馬年，木口木刻更是一門精密技法，其過程具有不可逆轉性。映照畫中的馬，象徵勇往直前的決心，一種蓄勢待發的氣勢。

[Art Boutique Team’s Curatorial Imagination: If We Could Curate Your Space] 01

Beyond the booth at AAFHK2026, how might the artworks we present inhabit a lived-in space? In chapter one, our team member Karmen shares her vision.

🕰️ Turning the Corner of Time

Some pairings don’t just fill walls; they transform an L-shaped space into a spatial dialogue. I would place MARK Tin-Kit’s Haiphong Road #2 (2006) on the facing wall, drawing you forward as you enter. On the adjacent wall, Haiphong Road 20 Years Later (2026) rests quietly, revealing itself fully as you turn the corner.

In this layout, the works unfold through movement. The 2006 oil painting leads you inward; as you pivot, the 2026 acrylic meets your gaze. The physical corner becomes a bridge across two decades. You do not simply witness the passage of time, you physically navigate it.

Together, they capture a dual transformation: the shifting face of Haiphong Road, and the artist’s evolving practice. It is the same observant eye, tempered by time and medium, re-examining a restless city.

Every turn through this space poses a quiet question: when we return to the same place, what changes, and what remains?

若離開 AAFHK2026 的展位語境，將Art Boutique呈獻的作品帶入生活空間，會展現怎樣的面貌？本系列第一章由團隊成員 Karmen 分享她的策展想像。

🕰️ 轉角處的時間對話

有些作品的並置不僅是裝飾，更能讓一個 L 型空間化作跨越時空的對話。我會將麥天傑的《海防道 #2》（2006）置於正前方的牆面，在你步入空間時牽引視線；而在相鄰的牆面上，《海防道・二十年後》（2026）靜候於側，在轉角處與你相遇。

在 L 型的佈局裡，作品在步伐與轉向之間緩緩共振。2006 年的油畫先將你引入；隨著腳步轉折，2026 年的壓克力新作映入眼簾。空間的轉角讓二十年的距離變得立體可感：你不再只是旁觀時間流逝，而是身置其中。

這對作品的並置承載了兩道轉變：海防道二十年間的歲月更迭，以及藝術家歷經磨礪後的重遊舊地。同一雙眼睛，增添二十年的歲月，以嶄新媒材，再次凝視這座未曾停歇的城市。

每一次經過這個轉角，空間彷彿輕問：當我們回到同一個地方，什麼改變了，又有什麼依然如故？

[Meet the Artists] 04 - WAI King Man 韋勁敏

Art Boutique presents WAI King Man at the Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong 2026. Born in Guangxi and long based in Hong Kong, Wai has developed a practice that moves fluently across watercolour, ink, oil, and acrylic — shaped by both Chinese painting tradition and Western pictorial sensibility. Trained under masters including Shi Qi at the Beijing Painting Academy, his work carries a quiet technical assurance, turning the pulse of city streets and natural landscapes into images full of light, atmosphere, and quiet depth.

Art Boutique 將於 2026 年香港 Affordable Art Fair 呈獻韋勁敏的作品。韋勁敏生於廣西，長居香港，創作媒介橫跨水彩、水墨、油畫與壓克力，其視覺語言深植於中國繪畫傳統，並兼融西方繪畫的結構思維。他曾入讀北京畫院石齊工作室及清華大學美術學院研修，其深厚學養造就了他沉著而細膩的畫面處理。是次展出的作品以城市街景為題，於光影流轉、節奏變化與空間轉換之中，呈現出他對日常景物的敏銳觀察與生活韻致。

[Meet the Artists] 02 - LAM King Ting 林敬庭

Art Boutique presents LAM King Ting at the Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong 2026. Working primarily in wood engraving, Lam develops finely carved images shaped by light, atmosphere, and a quiet attentiveness to animals, foliage, and contemplative space. From moonlit rabbits and dragons to woodpeckers and dense foliage, the works on view unfold a world that is precise, poetic, and quietly luminous.

Art Boutique 將於 2026 年香港 Affordable Art Fair 呈獻林敬庭的作品。他以木口木刻版畫為主要創作媒介，在細密的刀痕中，捕捉光線、氛圍，以及對自然與空間的細緻觀察。從朗月、靈兔到啄木鳥與扶疏草木，是次呈獻作品共同展現出一個沉靜、內斂的光學世界。

[Meet the Artists] 01 - HSU Yi Hsuan 許以璇

Art Boutique presents HSU Yi Hsuan at the Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong 2026. Rooted in woodcut and reduction printing, Hsu’s practice brings animals, plants, and everyday life into a tender pictorial world shaped by layered carving and colour. The works presented at the fair unveil her gift for transforming quiet lives and fleeting moments into intimate, lyrical tales.

“Tracks 2025” Des Montagnes Studio Group Exhibition is now open!
The exhibition is currently on view at the Exhibition Gallery on the 4/F of the Administration Building, Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui. The show runs through this Sunday, so drop by the Cultural Centre and spend a quiet moment with the paintings, where fifteen artists have traced the footprints of life through brush and ink.
