𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐐&𝐀 Part 2
Welcome back to Part 2 of our 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐐&𝐀 with Kosuke Harasawa. After exploring the emotional inspiration of his work, Harasawa now reveals his unique artistic process. Listen in as he explains why he uses Shin Iwaenogu, pigments made from crushed glass, to depict the reflective, neon-drenched streets of Hong Kong, literally building the city out of its own materials.

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
"You once said, 'Just as traditional artists used minerals to paint mountains, I use glass to paint cities.' When capturing Hong Kong's neon and reflective streets, did your glass pigments create any unexpected effects? What story does the material itself tell?"

𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐐&𝐀
We are excited to have artist Kosuke Harasawa to join the opening of our new exhibition - 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧! With our new 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐐&𝐀 series, he’s sharing the inspiration behind his paintings of Hong Kong’s rainy streets. Drawing from his childhood experience with Alice in Wonderland Syndrome (a condition causing distorted perceptions), Harasawa’s work presents a unique, dreamlike vision of the city.

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
"You’ve said 'Alice in Wonderland Syndrome' shaped your artwork's style. Does Hong Kong’s surreal, neon landscape echo those childhood experiences? How do you project that feeling onto these streets?"
