【Sun Playroom | Ink Journeys: Expression and Landscape Painting】
In conjunction with the “The 2nd Hong Kong Paintings in Sai Yuen Lane” exhibition, Sun Museum is excited to present “Ink Journeys: Expression and Landscape Painting”. We have specially invited Simon Yung, a featured artist from the second phase exhibition to guide this course. Simon will demonstrate the fusion of traditional and modern ink painting, showing how brush, ink, and soul interweave together.
This course consists of three sessions. Through live demonstrations and hands-on practice, Simon will lead participants into three different worlds of ink painting. From the use of blank space in linear compositions, to infusing poetic depth, and finally exploring contemporary experimentation, you will discover your own landscape realm while mastering the rich textures of ink—thick, diluted, dry, and wet. Participants will complete an individual painting from each session.
This course is suitable for all ages, and no prior drawing experience is required. Please refer to the link below🔗 for more details and registration.

Reshaping classics and embracing the blank space. Recreate the elegance of ancient paintings using lines, master the art of leaving blank space on paper, and learn to create a sense of space through the interplay of void and substance, capturing the essence of traditional spirit.
Lesson 2 | Splashed Ink & Poetic Depth
Infusing poetry into painting, letting ink flow. Focusing on emotional expression where intent precedes the brush, you will experience the natural expansion and spontaneous flow of splashed ink, transforming rich poetry into a unique visual aesthetic.
