Soluna Fine Art would like to congratulate artist Zang Zong-Son on her first solo exhibition in Venice, Snapshots of Small Pauses, presented at SERICA Venice. Zang’s abstract paintings embrace imperfections, and capture the intimate beauty of the everyday moments and objects, which resonates with this year’s 61st Venice Biennale theme, In Minor Keys, an invitation to listen to the quiet signals of earth and life. Snapshots of Small Pauses is a visual meditation and an invitation to slow down.

“I’ve described my work as religious paintings, not because of any iconographic content, but because of the faith and quality of attention the process demands. In that sense the paintings are closer to a relic than an image. The object matters, but what it represents is the accumulated time and intention that produced it. You can’t see those layers individually, similar to the fact that you can’t count someone’s prayers. But I would like the viewer to somehow feel the weight of them.”

Since his early works, in which he repeatedly copied passages from the Bible by hand, devotion has remained central to ’s artistic practice. While the visual language of his work has evolved, from tightly packed scribbles to colourful grids, the underlying commitment to patience, discipline, and sustained attention has remained unchanged.

「我習慣形容自己的作品為一種宗教繪畫，但並非因為當中蘊含任何宗教意象或象徵，而是因為創作過程所需要的信念與意志，以及近乎虔誠的絕對專注。在某種意義上，這些作品更像是一件聖物，而非單純的一幅畫作或創作。作品本身所呈現的畫面固然重要，但它真正承載的，是創作背後所凝聚的時間累積和意念。這些層層堆疊的痕跡無法被逐一辨識，正如你無法細數一個人曾經祈禱過多少次，但我希望觀者能夠以某種方式感受到它們的存在與份量。」

In San Gimignano, repetition is both process and subject. ‘s signature grid patterns and brushstrokes are repeated hundreds of times across the canvas, each layer marking an accumulation of time, labour, and attention. At the heart of his practice is an interest in the act of looking itself: a fleeting glance reveals one image, while a slower, more contemplative gaze transforms the experience entirely. Rather than inviting viewers to decipher or understand the work, Poblador encourages them to observe what unfolds as time is spent in front of it, and how that passage of time subtly reshapes perception.

With experiments of larger color palettes, enjoys the spontaneity and unpredictability that mixing color brings. To truly appreciate Poblador’s work, one must look past the grid. Stand far enough away that the colour dissolves, let your gaze soften, and wait. What you are looking for is not a hidden figure or a symbolic code, but the residue of ritual—the way a colour seems to warm or cool depending on what hangs beside it. Poblador’s work is an invitation to introspection. It challenges viewers to slow down and find beauty not in a sudden flash of colour, but in the rigorous and the patience.

Color plays a central role in ’s solo exhibition San Gimignano. It shapes the viewer’s first impression while carrying the atmospheric sensibility the artist seeks to evoke. Warm tones appear throughout the works, alongside his distinctive use of primary hues. In ’s current solo exhibition San Gimignano, the grid operates as both structural armature and philosophical anchor. Though its straight-edged framework may suggest restraint, Poblador does not perceive these divisions as shapes but as parameters that enable deeper concentration. By removing unnecessary choices, each line and brushstroke commands heightened attention, shifting the emphasis toward process and clarity. Within this self-imposed discipline, freedom and creativity are not curtailed but channeled—cultivating a sustained, almost meditative state of production.

In ’s current solo exhibition San Gimignano, two series of paintings are presented: “Compositions” and “Sequences”. The Compositions are densely structured through finely divided grids of color that gradually merge from a distance. In contrast, the Sequences are more minimal, composed of larger fields of color with reduced palettes and more immediate relationships. If the Compositions resemble a full piece of music, the Sequences are closer to a single chord. Though visually different, both series emerge from the same meditative process and conceptual foundation.
