開放時間：
星期一、三、四及日：早上10時至下午6時
星期五、六及公眾假期：早上10時至晚上8時
逢星期二（公眾假期除外）、農曆年初一及二休館

博物館開幕近兩年，為配合保養、優化和新展覽準備工作，下列展廳將按階段暫停開放。其中，展廳3將以全新的專題展覽重新開放。

展廳暫停開放時段（專題展覽）：
展廳1： 5月21日至6月30日
展廳3 ：5月21日至7月9 日
展廳2 ：7月1日至8月13日
展廳5 ：7月1日至第四季(日期待定)

特別展覽方面，展廳9現正暫停開放，以準備於6月26日起舉辦的全新展覽。

After almost two years of opening, HKPM will close the following galleries by phase for maintenance, refurbishment and preparation of exhibiti

ons. Gallery 3 will feature a brand-new thematic exhibition upon its reopening. Operation hours:
Mon, Wed, Thu & Sun: 10am – 6pm
Fri, Sat & Public Holidays: 10am – 8pm
Closed on Tues (except Public Holidays), the first and second day of Lunar New Year

7月1日免費開放專題展覽 Free entry to thematic exhibitions on 1 July

為慶祝香港特別行政區成立29周年，香港故宮文化博物館將於2026年7月1日開放專題展覽予公眾免費參觀。

訪客可於6月12日（星期五）上午10時起經博物館網站、西九文化區網站或手機應用程式、「購票通」 網上購票平台預約 7月1日的免費標準門票。先到先得，額滿即止。

如欲參觀最新特別展覽「琳瑯──紐約大都會藝術博物館世界珠寶珍藏」（展廳8），或「古埃及文明大展──埃及博物館珍藏」（展廳9），訪客可在博物館內現場加購附加票。

To celebrate the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Hong Kong Palace Museum will offer free admission to the public for thematic exhibitions on 1 July 2026.

Starting from 10am on 12 June (Friday), visitors can pre-book free General Admission tickets for 1 July via the HKPM website, the West Kowloon Cultural District website or mobile app, or through our official ticketing partner Cityline. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last.

Tickets for the newest special exhibition “Treasures of Global Jewellery from The Metropolitan Museum of Art: The Body Transformed” in Gallery 8, or “Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums” in Gallery 9 can be purchased onsite at the Museum as an add-on.

What would it look like if a passion could span more than half a century?

The brand-new thematic exhibition, “Joyful Encounters: The Connoisseurship and Art of Wong Kwan Shut” will officially open on 13 June. More than a visual feast, it is also the first major retrospective since the passing of the renowned Hong Kong calligrapher, painter, and connoisseur Wong Kwan Shut (1934-2026).

Why this exhibition is not to be missed:

Step into a master’s circle: Alongside Wong’s representative works, the exhibition features inscriptions and traces of exchange with legendary scholars such as Qi Gong and Xu Bangda. Break through the boundaries of time and glimpse the rich dialogue among literati of the past.

A rare sharing of private treasures:

The display presents 68 exceptional works generously donated to the Museum by Wong and his wife, Mrs Wong Pong Chi-ying. This otherwise private master-level collection is now unveiled to the public, a rare opportunity.

Idioms are concise, refined phrases that have been precipitated and honed through the long course of Chinese language and culture over time. Some are rooted in profound historical allusions; others capture subtle shades of meaning. Often carried by metaphor and enriched through extension, they embody the crystallised wisdom of the Chinese people.

A seasoned guardian of the Palace Museum treasures, Director Fung Ming-chu, Former Director of the Palace Museum, Taipei, selects one hundred idioms with an original framework. After years of dedicated effort, the book weaves idioms with the classics and knowledge of the treasures from the Forbidden City, reinterpreting the essence of traditional Chinese culture and opening a dialogue across time and space between language and heritage. Additionally, Mr Li Zhongmou, Deputy Director, Collection and Learning of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, will moderate a conversation with the speaker.

Organised by the Hong Kong Palace Museum, the “HKPM Master Talk Series” invites experts from around the world with outstanding research achievements in the fields of art and culture to offer multi-perspective and comprehensive explorations of the history and academic values of their respective fields. The series further fosters mutual exchanges between China and the West, bringing new life to the Chinese traditional culture.
